I would love him to stay, but not as skipper or regular starter. Trouble is I think it would be too humilating for him to stay as a squad player

Definitely not. He's been loyal to us and we should show loyalty to him.

He'd still be a good player to have in the squad, and is a very good dressing room presence and someone to help the younger lads.

Don't know about wanting him to go. The problem is, he probably won't be a regular starting CB next season. Therefore, will he be happy on the bench at this stage of his career? Unlikely. If he does go, he goes with my thanks.
