Anyone really missing Nige DJ ?

Caught a bit of the Milan-Lazio match the other day and got a bit emotional. It was my first time seeing him in that shirt. Of course, then he goes and drills a shot wide, and I had to smile, thinking how if it was back in Manchester, the fans would be screaming for it whether wide, on target, or in row z.

For the most part we are probably not missing him on the pitch, but I can't help but wonder sometimes if that steely, refuse to concede, tough as nails attitude that was such a part of our play in 2010-2011 wasn't based in large part around him - both his playing style and his attitude in the changing room. As we changed, it became neccessary to have more versatility and aggressiveness going forward, but I'll always miss that warm feeling of ultimate trust - that feeling that once we went 1-0 up there was no way in hell the other team was going to touch us, because we would scrape it out and Big Nige would snap them in half if they came near the box..

I mean there's something to be said for flowing, lovely, score three goals in the last three minutes football, but I miss the days when we'd rather die than concede too.

I miss him.
City probably won't miss him in the medium term but his departure was salt in the wounds of a shit window.

Got used to him not being in the side over the course of last season, to be honest. He palyed no more than a bit part in the season, and it became obvious that he would not be part of Bob's first choice XI. Therefore, if he wanted regular first team football, he would have to move on. I wish him well at his new club.

Always believed and still do that Nige was great for the club and the team. Wish he was still here, though we haven't seen enough of Javi yet to be fair to him. Apparently Roberto told Nigel that he was no longer in his plans and we've got to back the manager, especially when he's done what Roberto has here.

We would not have lost in Madrid had he played, we would not of lost the midfield battle against Dortmund, not have had 4 put past us by Villa and most probably have kept a few more clean sheets.

The man is a destroyer, the best in the business - I miss our Nige.

snap, good luck Nige one of my favs

I didnt think he played that well in our european games, always looked a bit hesitant, apprehensive that foreign refs wouldnt tolerate his sliding tackles.

I thought I`d be devastated by Niges move to Milan, but if I`m honest,I ain`t missing him on the pitch.
He always seemed to be one of the jokers in the pack whilst watching him on the OS and always looked happy, taking the piss etc.
As fans, have you missed him and I wonder what the thoughts of the players is.I know its an industry where staff come and go, probably more often than most but as a fan,how do you feel now ?
Are we missing him on the pitch ?

from the squad yes, 100%.

I dont think the team is missing him as he wasnt first choice anyway..

Although from what we know i am puzzled he didnt sign the new contract, he would have been paid decent money, loved the club and was settled in the area..

Why didnt he just sign it..
