Why don't you just wait till you appear in front of court and speak to magistrate/judge/whoever?100% serious. I've been charged to appear at court in 2 weeks time.
Never had anything like this before so don't know where to go but I want to apologise to the club.
Writing to the club will probably be ignored.
You have 2 weeks to write a sincere apology letter which you should read out to the judge. Explain the emotion you were going through, reminding him or her you have never been in trouble with the law (assuming that's the case), examples of when you have helped members of society, any charity/volunteer work you might have done.
They might be a little more sympathetic
