Apology to the club

They seem to be quoting the words of the judge/magistrate.
In which case his legal team should be all over it like a rash.

That however it's looked at isn't what happened and if the penalty has been laid on that premise it should be taken further, much further.

The guy shouldn't have gone on the pitch but 'do' him for what he actually did, don't allow the fuckers to make it up as they go along.

A 4 year ban!

What a f*cking joke.

What world do magistrates, authorities, the PL, the FA, and clubs live in.

The lad ran on the pitch on his own. Nowhere near any players. At full-time 1000’s of City fans ran in to the pitch.

The authorities always want to make 1 fan a scapegoat and an example of.

Feel for you mate.

Yet some c*nt can get caught robbing from city centre shops and town centre shops on numerous occasions before a ban is imposed.
One in which they have tariffs for each crime committed.

The minimum FBO for this kind of offence is 2 years and the maximum is liefetime.

The maximum fine is £1000.

Meldrew could potentially appeal the length of ban and try and get it halved and maybe even lowering the fine, but the magistrate has passed down a reasonable sentence, given the guidance.

According to the bbc article he represented himself so no legal team ..

I know that fella that head butted the sheff utd player is serving time, but what about the other incidents and pitch invasions ? The unfortunate thing is yes you shouldn’t have went on the pitch, but it’s just a case of wrong place wrong time and your the unlucky one,the whole legal system needs an overhaul, has anyone been charged for the break in at old Trafford last season or charged for assault on the steward..As already posted by some it seems they had to take action and you again unfortunately are the fall guy after all the pitch invasion’s ..
dont mention the 100's of scrotes attacking our coach, several years ago now, thats all been swept under the carpet like the 1000's of rag cunts getting a game postponed

That's a big error.

Having been in court when working many times on the honest good guys side when anything gets to court it's all a big game between legals and not having one on your side is madness.

Even the Everton pitch invasion when they beat palace has been cleared by Merseyside police and no one charged ..

Apparently I taunted the players and fans, utter bollocks. I was merely in the moment.

It's an absolute joke this, it's slander.
Sorry to be pedantic but it’s if it’s written rather than spoken, it’s libel rather than slander.
Seriously, it’s really frustrating to hear how this has turned out. A victim of circumstances following a moment of madness that involved nothing malicious. Deserved a slap on the wrist along with a nominal fine/ban but not this. Stay strong.

I tried to do the decent thing, to represent myself I'm quite capable of taking responsibility for my own actions.

I thought representing myself and admitting responsibility was the right thing to do.

And it's come out the complete opposite way. Anyone viewing the film or at the match would've seen I did nothing to antagonise or cause trouble.

I was in a moment of pure joy and I went off with no fuss after.

I can't believe the picture being painted of me. I'm just in a state of shock.

Said it before but please seek legal advice. Reports make out you stormed on the pitch looking for trouble or antagonising Villa fans. Not sure what video people were looking at. You need to speak to someone though who can firstly get these reports off the internet or changed to reflect the truth. Secondly they can appeal the severity of the fine and ban. Look at the Neverton invasion, unsurprisingly nobody has even been arrested yet, same with Port Vale invasion. You gave definitely been made an example. Seek help tomorrow

Cheers mate, thank you.

Todays news is tomorrows chip paper. Well the internet version. Like everyone has said, they have gone to town on you today. You have taken the punishment for every pitch invasion at every club at the end of the season. Don’t stress about it. You know the score and so will your family and friends. They are all that matter.

Whilst it probably sounds and feels the right thing to do I think going in without legal representative is never the right decision.

Maybe you can get some and appeal?

Cheers mate, thank you.
I've no experience of the courts but hope you can make plain that what you did was out of joy (ok, and momentary daftness) not malice. The video shows this clear as day.

Just come out of court. 4 year ban 800 quid fine.

Real criminals get better treatment.
Scandalous.

I'm assuming you didn't get in touch with Amanda Jacks at the fsa. It's probably still worth doing so, she can at least run you through your options now, details are on the below link.

Also worth remembering that you have the option after 2/3 of the ban is served to request the ban is set aside, not ideal but could get you back in the ground legally for early 2025.
