It seems he was aware of abuse being carried out by John Smyth, but did not report it to the authorities. Which was scandalous. How many of the suspected 130 victims were abused after the Church became aware of the scandal?

Right decision. Failed in his duty of care. Did anyone tell the South Africans what was coming their way when Smyth emigrated?

On a seperate but related note, absolutely horrific phone in on Sheila Foggerty (LBC) this afternoon with listeners phoning in on their own sex abuse experiences.

Uber **** scumbag and should be sent to prison for keeping a lid on it and allowing the nonce to move elsewhere, he knew what happened and we all know that he won't face any comeuppance over this but should as it's beyond scandalous.

If he was a real man of god he'd have informed the relevant authorities and protected the victims, instead he has protected one of his own I can't trust any religious figures for shadiness like this.

He's not that naive that he truly thinks he can be cured or could see the light, he's done this to cover up the abuse with no thought whatsoever about any abuse victims.
