Are expections too high for next season?

No matter what we win next year, if pep is happy im happy. Its a transition, if we win he league which i believe we will, great. But he has to put his plans into place

Depends what signings we make, and if we clear out the shit players who are nowhere near good enough.

Navas, Delph, Fernando, Mangala and Kolarov shouldn't be in the team next season. Not even close to good enough.

Pep will need some time to impose his ideas on this lot. Can see many going.
Although some might be happy to stay - on good wages - no one else will sign them.

i think spurs are favourites going into next season.

they have the least amount of transition to do so with a few to class additions and with an already young squad you would have thought it would be better next season because of this seasons experience.

it's difficult to tell what we will do until we see ourselves post-pre-season and a month or two in the league.

the rebuild that needs to happen at city is something pep hasn't had to go through yet i don't think, not only that but tactically he is so demanding on his players that we don't know how long it is going to take until his philosophy and ideas are fluently being implemented on the itch.

That sounds very much like a case of getting pep's excuses in early.

Apologies if that's not how you meant it.

For me it's really simple..

A great squad (every match day thread tells us we have the best squad and we haven't won the league because the manager is shit), plus several millions spent in the summer (we will be the best placed team in England to recruit targets with an unlimited budget and the most famous manager in the world), plus the greatest manager ever taking charge should equal a big improvement in this season, AND we are unlikley to suffer the amount of injuries to key players next season either so realistically we should be red red hot favourites for the league. This current squad finished 1st, 2nd, and probably 3rd in last 3 years so for the reasons above anything other than a title is a failure in my eyes next year.

Last 4 of ecl to keep pace with this season isn't unreasonable, and neither is a cup win to also keep pace with this season.

A top 4 placing and last 8 Or worse in ecl and no cup wins at home would be huge regression on this season when 80-90% of posters reckon, many times vociferously, we have been shit and under achieved.

Pep has to win every domestic cup and title next season, and also the La Liga/Bundesliga/Serie A's titles and cups.

If not, he's a flop, and I will burn an effigy of him.

I'll be happy to just see some kind of plan implemented on the pitch instead of watching 11 blokes playing like they've never met each other until 10 minutes before kick off.
Anything else is a bonus.

He needs atleast 2 summer transfer windows to shape his team and get it playing in the Pep way.
