What they have achieved this year is amazing, and with a squad of players that the big clubs wouldn’t be rushing to sign. They had a good side previously, around 2001, but they kept throwing the league away, hence in Germany they were nicknamed Neverkusen. I’m sure they were in a Champions League final as well around that time. Good luck to them. .
It’d be hard to believe Txiki & Ferran haven’t had a quiet word with him yet about Pep’s contract situation. I think sometimes people put too much stock in “going home” when you’re often on a hiding to nothing there.
City are tailor-made for a successful, young manager, with tactical nous, who is ready to take a world class team and rebuild it in his own image.
I agree, City will be looking for a young innovator to take over. I’d be stunned if we went for a tried and trusted.
