Are the Worms turning?

Though he did have three Liverpool players in the team of the week and just two from City. I have seen both games and no way they were better than us that much.

Liverpool are already becoming the football media darlings, can't remember how many programs or reports about Klopp I have endured, or the number of ex Liverpool pundits creaming themselves over their chances this year.
Well what I was implying was in previous weeks he would include our players in his line-up but in the description have a go at Pep. The most recent one isn't perfect though, as he ended with the caveat that "they must win something otherwise all their flamboyant football will count for nought". Thanks for the reminder, Garry.

I don't believe there was ever an agenda against us in the mainstream media. The media looks for the best story. Last season that was "Moneybags city can buy the best players but they can't buy team spirit or success", which beautifully complemented the narrative of Leicester's success. With our current form, the best story is now" genius coach sets up city to challenge the best on the world ". That would have been the narrative last year had we produced performances to justify it...
The Yaya/Seluk saga might provide a brief detour into " uncompromising Pep is an obsessive who will get rid of players who disagree ", but the main narrative will be positive now as long as our performances justify it: neutrals well love watching us, and most media consumers are neutrals as far as city are concerned...
But have we not been the subject of shite for the past 8 years?

The Shiek will get bored of his new toy.
We'll only attract mercenaries.
You can buy all the players you want but won't create a team.
The best players will use us as a stepping stone.
The way Hughes was sacked was disgraceful.
We haven't got the winning mentality of other clubs.
We might win a cup but won't be able to sustain it over 38 games.
Players will leave now we've won the league.
We'll never be a threat in Europe.
The way we sacked Mancini was disgraceful.
Liverpool are destined to win it for the 96 and deservedly so.
When Barca and Madrid come calling....
Pep wants a club with history.
The way we sacked Pellegrini was disgraceful.
Pep has had it too easy and will get a shock in England.
His tactics won't work at Stoke away.
We haven't got enough stardust.
Mourinho will teach Pep about the Premier League.

Fucking bore off all of you with the constant shite.

We were talking about City. Not sure why you are on about United. But the 'story' with them is developing beautifully into a "United crisis" which will complement our narrative beautifully.

Because most of them are clickbaiting for Utd & Liverpool fans etc & you know it. A small but significant percentage have a snidey dislike or even hatred of City but for most, it's not an agenda against City it's an agenda to attract readers & we happen to be at the wrong end of that because slaughtering us also attracts them. You only have to read the comments on any City story, to know that. And that is true in all media most of the time.

A Utd crisis with Rooney playing like a ****, also attracts readers. Same as pretending Utd are brilliant when they are average or 'are year' with Liverpool.

In City's case right now, it has become embarrassing & idiotic to try & pretend it's not brilliant (although they had a good try) And Utd fans themselves are on their case especially Rooney's so they are being fed that, which also suits Liverpool Arse etc etc & us. We are now being clickbaited to laugh at Utd.

These people are shithouses of the highest order. But they still love great football, underneath.

If we keep up this level of football, it's difficult not to admire it, no matter how pro rag/scouse or just plain Patrick Barclay style **** you are.

Even rags will admire it. And that, plus them tearing themselves apart, is fantastic for us.

We just have to keep it going & the world media will love it, not just here.

Fuck up, & they will stamp on us.

That's all very true and we all know that it comes down to click bait and selling papers.
But dress it up anyway you like it's still an agenda. An agenda that they are not averse to making shit up about City in order to sell or attract clicks.

To say that it's not an agenda against City while saying slaughtering City sells for them is a little baffling.

Don't get me wrong. I agree with all you are saying, but to me that definitely adds up to an agenda. What you call that agenda doesn't matter. It amounts to putting City down at the expense of The Rags and The Dippers at every opportunity.

They can't put us down at the moment but you wait and see.
If it comes down to us and Liverpool after Christmas you'll see how impartial things are.

You forgot 'morally bankrupt club'. Still holding my breath for someone in the media to ascribe that descrption to united.

Well it's easy enough. There are a lot of people in the media who 'support' teams who are let's say 'unfriendly' towards us. And there are loads more who know where their bread is buttered, by attracting readers.

But they don't get together on the whole in darkened rooms, thinking of ways to shit on City (like Gill & Ruminigge etc) they do it naturally.

The advertising people do it on purpose though.

Once again I agree with you, but in my book if you are willing to write misleading headlines or down right lies to sell to a rival team audience or audiences, then yes that is an agenda and has nothing to do with journalism.

I believe these are editor decisions and not a conspiracy amongst the general media, but it is a agenda that is driven purely by commercial interests.
They pander to the biggest audience's prejudices and tastes. You only have to look at what they were willing to do to Sterling. They would quite willingly ruin a 19 year old career because it appealed to a Liverpool audience.

It's an agenda alright. It has nothing to do with sports journalism.

I'd love to see that BBC's combined Manchester XI now.

Proof if any was ever needed that the mass hoards know very little about anything and are influenced by the media's opinion.

It's not an agenda against us though. We just happen to be a way to attract rags or to get on their good side, like Niall Quinn's quite sickening early season efforts of sucking their dicks whilst saying our clearly superior football was some kind of illusion. When ex City players will suck the Devil's cock like that, small wonder ex rags scousers etc have no problem doing it for the favoured teams.

But when a team plays football which is 'so' good as we are doing, its difficult to keep pretending it's not the real deal & that it's not fucking great to watch. Even Ferguson will probably admit it if we keep this up.

The ball is in our court now. If we can maintain this, it's big.

If not, as you say, it will be a scouse or whoever wankfest out of proportion & we will get killed.

But the world is looking at City now, as we looked at Barca in the past. It will be absolutely enormous for the club if we keep this up.

Most of these geeks who write for the newspapers are late 30's to early 40's they were growing up when United and Liverpool were the most successful teams. That's the way I see it.
