Are United Really 17 Points Better Than Us ATM?

Due to corrupt officials we start the season at least 20 points behind them.

1- They never give up and fight for everything.
2- We aren't quite good enough yet.

Hopefully when Fergie dies things might change.

Im thinking youre not taking into consideration how shit we were earlier in the season...especially when we couldnt deal with fixture congestion after the new year.

As it stands now looking at the two teams and their respective performances I would find it hard to separate us in terms of ability. The season isnt decided like that though....unfortunately.

The good news though is we have improved where they have stayed the same

I no us city fans have tunnel vision. But to be honest we are miles behind them 1 good result in fa cup. And every one getting carried away. Since after new year we have been not so good. Have not won 1 away game wake up and smell the coffee.

The fact that plenty of managers go to the scumpit accepting a defeat before the first whistle is worth 10/15 points to them, add that to the 10 points or so that the refs give them and you have the reasons they are top.

The thing with utd, as much as I do not like to admit it, they are a machine, they turn defeats into draws and draws into wins, so the answer is yes they are 17 points better than us

Over the next few years,the machine will start to splutter and misfire.The media will continue to perpetuate the myth until all hope has gone and they eventually accept their demise to mediocrity.We're seeing it at the moment with Tiger Woods.He's no longer the best,but he's the first person the media mention at the start of each tournament.It will be our turn soon enough.It'll just be a case of "the king is dead.Long live the king."
Obviously the old govan piss-stain retiring would accelerate things a bit,but even with him there,I can see them being found out a lot more next season.Next years title will be a 3 way fight between us,chelsea and liverpool.

No, they're not 17 points better than us.

We have two games in hand so once we're on equal games the likelihood is that the gap will be smaller, and they have a couple of difficult games coming up.

Regardless though, they are still unquestionably a better team than us. The gap is closing, but the league table doesn't lie.

This looking at the table and accepting it at face value is all very well and good but...if they had Roy Hodgson at the start of the year, we'd be above them now... apparently.
