Are we missing Tevez?

something iv been pondering over the last couple of weeks... he did quite well in games (when he was here obvs) where we lacked something different and he took the game by the scruff of the neck and managed to create something or bagged himself. I think if he was sub on Sunday and came on instead of dezko we may have won... unfortunately we will never know!

If Ched Evans had come on instead of Dzeko we may have won.

Genuinely lol!!

All things being equal of course it's hard to argue that Tevez wouldn't have contributed more to this campaign than Dzeko or Jovetic have.

But would he have been happy playing 2nd fiddle to Negredo when he was on fire ? Doubt it.

Happy families, rightly or wrongly, seems to be the order of the day this season and Carlos couldn't be trusted to toe the line.

He's done well in Italy but he's playing in a totally dominant team in a league with less quality in it than the PL so it's debatable whether he'd still be tearing up trees for us.

You wouldn't have seen Nasri being so effective this season if Tevez was still here and playing regularly, as Carlos always used to drop deep into that space that Samir occupies so well.

Thought Tevez cramped Silva as well.

Some total bollocks being spouted on this thread.

Go back and look at the goals he scored for us and say we don't miss a player like him.

He is one of the best players to have ever played for the club.

Yes he was a knob off the pitch but don't pretend he wasn't brilliant.

No. Tevez wouldn't even have got to the end of those headers which Dzeko send wide.

Tevez did really well for us BUT he wasn't a team player - he (or more importantly his entourage) were on occasions a total distraction - with the high profile transfer requests and golfing holidays!. Financially it was 100 per cent the right decision to ship him out. Have we missed him - yes - you will always miss someone of his quality. If Jovetic hadn't had such a nightmare with injuries we probably wouldn't be having this discussion but at times we have been a striker short this season because Aguero has had injuries, Dzeko has gone backwards, Negredo has done well until he injured his shoulder and Jovetic has been on the sidelines too much.
