are we wasting this window?

It's horses for courses mate, we will certainly change formations throughout the season so the likes of Petrov and Ireland will be used but maybe not as much as they were under Hughes. Im Irelands biggest fan and have been for a few years but i think he needs some of the creative work taking off him and given time to rest fully. He looks knackered and has been ill for a while with his dizzy spells ect, im definately not saying drop him completely, just give him some quality rest. Thats why he is picking up so many niggling injuries this season, he has been nard at it for 2 years now with only 4 days holiday in summer.

Elano was on the fringes of the Brazil squad when he came and certainly wasn't starting many games for them. I hadn't heard about him before he joined and most of my blue mates hadn't either so it was a nice surprise to see someone with so much style come to the club for £8mill and run the show for the first 3 months of the season

We cannot continue to keep stock piling players because of short term problems - also does the 25 rule not kick in next season - as i said no problems with bringing in new players but we do have to ship some out - Petrov is the obvious one

We only have 1 attacking midfielder at the club which is Ireland so a seasoned pro at attacking midfielder would help. Don't forget players like Benjani will be on their way out in summer plus a few more. It seems Mancini likes Petrov so he will stay imo, i don't want us to staock pile players either but a few squad players woul be nice just to rotate when needed

er, Bridge - an inept signing - on so many levels - both on and off the pitch

Just out of curiosty what makes you say that?

Isn't he one of the most unassuming players around? What problems does he ever have off the pitch?... apart from the breakdown of his relationship with the lovely Vanessa...

He is the best left back Ive seen at City for years and has played well this season.

The best left back since Willie Donachie...

Petrov is more or less out of contract and we ant offered him a new one - looks to me like he could be going and if so then yes bring another midfield player in. Ireland dont get anywhere near enough starts for me so how many games a new attacking midfield player would get is anybody's guess

I'm interested in tolmie's explanation on his off pitch comments or is he just making shit up about players like most others do?

I dont think we will sign anyone else in this window. With the players we already have I think Roberto will use the rest of the season to have a proper look at all of the squad and the set up of the youth teams. I think he is more than happy with the players already at the club and I think he can get the best out of them this season. He may have said to the players to show him that they deserve to be apart of his long term plans and is playing a waiting game. I think he is confident of wining a Cup this year and will do most of his shopping in the summer were he can get in the better standard of player. I think if we get another injury to the defence then he may well go and try and sign a new defender but with the games we have in January I think our defence is solid enough for him to go without bringing someone in then Toure , Ned and Lescott will be coming back into the squad over the next few weeks aswell.

Tolmie's a good poster and doesn't make stuff up.

But I rate Bridge both as a player and a person so am surprised by these comments

I depends on whether Mancini really is a stop gap till the summer. If so, I can see why the owner won't want to give him a blank cheque book.
