are we wasting this window?

He is the best left back Ive seen at City for years and has played well this season.

Agreed about Bridge - but sometimes he looses it ala Burnley - i guess that the difference between very good players and outstanding players not necessarily the footballing skills of each individual players but the decisions they make during the game.

I agree he does switch off at times but he is still a massive improvement on what we've had, personally I would play Lescott at left back when available as I think he is strong there and gives us more of an aerial threat but I don't think Bridge deserves half of the stick he gets.

I'd be suprised to see a "marquee" signing in this window for the previous reasons given.

I like the idea of 3 or 4 squad additions sub 10M, guys I've not heard of (I don't watch much foreign football) who could turn out ot be real gems, much like the feeling I got when we signed Corradi, Samaras, Caceido etc...

*Oh B*****ks*

P.S Bridge was looking good before the injury and I can't remember us having anyone better at left back

It would be good if we are looking at an Attacking Midfielder to find someone like Elano who we had hardly heard of and lit up the scene. I would want more consistency of course

I was against Hughes buying in this window because I felt we should have a stab at getting the 20 odd players we have bought in the last 18 months or so playing as a team (or even two teams). I feel the same with Mancini and if all we do is get in a couple of seasoned pros that works for me.

I should have just gone with 'No' in answer to the OP.

Where would he play - who's position would he take without player sales maybe Petrov then there aint room for such a player - fook Ireland aint a regular

Elano was a Brazilian international

It's horses for courses mate, we will certainly change formations throughout the season so the likes of Petrov and Ireland will be used but maybe not as much as they were under Hughes. Im Irelands biggest fan and have been for a few years but i think he needs some of the creative work taking off him and given time to rest fully. He looks knackered and has been ill for a while with his dizzy spells ect, im definately not saying drop him completely, just give him some quality rest. Thats why he is picking up so many niggling injuries this season, he has been nard at it for 2 years now with only 4 days holiday in summer.

Elano was on the fringes of the Brazil squad when he came and certainly wasn't starting many games for them. I hadn't heard about him before he joined and most of my blue mates hadn't either so it was a nice surprise to see someone with so much style come to the club for £8mill and run the show for the first 3 months of the season

We cannot continue to keep stock piling players because of short term problems - also does the 25 rule not kick in next season - as i said no problems with bringing in new players but we do have to ship some out - Petrov is the obvious one
