I have Polish blood and distant Irish blood, as well as family around the area I now live going back to the 1600's. I like having Polish ancestry and my Grandad who is Polish is a Poland fan in sports. Not particularly bothered about the Irish so much as it goes back about four or five generations and I don't have any living Irish family but my preferred alcoholic beverage is Guinness!

But I am a Northerner. I feel English and British. Proud to be all three.

Its an interesting question and Ive thought about it......I think its an individual thing, My Mothers family was Irish and My fathers ancestry is Scottish and as a English Northerner I feel more affinity with Scotland & Ireland than I do with Southern England so I regard myself as British, the official name for our country is The United Kingdom Of Great Britain & Northern Ireland, England is only a part of that

Northern England IS England and Britain.
