Are you religious?

It's all about respecting everything and having mercy on everyone around you regardless of who they are. There are many things that are not not in our hands to decide.

I think there's a difference between believing in the possibility of a higher power and being religious.

I am absolutely not religious in any way shape or form. No 'Abrahamic' god can possibly exist in my opinion.

That said, I see no reason why a 'non-interfering' deity can't exist. By that I mean, a higher power who is a creator and nothing more, simply a catalyst for all that came afterwards. You can't pray to it and it doesn't set rules for you to live by, it just 'is'. You could say 'god' in that sense is just a metaphor for something more scientific such as the quantum fluctuation which caused the big bang. Or maybe just a thing that lives outside of our every day experience, in which case we can't possibly judge it.

I'm not saying I think that this is the case, but I would say that as long as there's a small chance of it being possible then we mere mortals can never be absolutely sure.

Pretty much sums up how I feel about it too.

Not religious myself, mainly due to the fact my dad said when we were born he thought it was only fair for us to decide on any religions we wished to follow/practice when we were old enough to understand what they were all about etc. I'm thankful of this tbh cos I feel some kids are pressured into having to follow a certain religion which they really don't want to.

But that cant possibly be true...how would people sell that notion to others if theres nothing in it for themselves? ;0)

96% who the fuck made that up, the church? thoughts? ;)

96% believe in a deity. Doesn't mean they follow a religion. 14% of people in Britain are Atheist... Apparently the highest percentage in the world. (I think the French were similar... but who cares what they think).

Be careful atheists, you're going to prison
