it was quality, I'll put my hat on for this but does anyone think that its because the game in England has been diluted somewhat, with too many women (I know I'll get pelted) and lightweight supporters who like a prawn sandwich from time to time. I remember standing in the Kippax with my dad in the late seventies and it swaying whilst in full volume. Its just the crap plastic, no soul atmosphere over here. Also if you go abroad the fans get into the ground hours before KO and drink, sing, smoke basically do what they please and build it to a crescendo for KO, the atmosphere we witnessed tonight doesn't happen by accident, it would be interesting to hear the opinion of a Aris fan to see what they say.

You know what mate, you should be wearing a tin helmet for that remark!! As a woman who was probably going to matches before you were even born that sort of attitude just makes my blood boil!! Maybe I should say that the atmosphere is diluted because people go for a drink and are then too drunk to take part!! I wouldn't because it isn't true any more than women attending matches is "diluting" the atmosphere!!

Ask anyone who sits near me who makes the most noise and sings and shouts and they will tell you that it is me. So go and sort out some body armour as well as the tin helmet because you may need it!!

Me my wife and my daughter have a season card for City, i'll be honest I doubt he'd say that if he spent a mere ten minutes around them during a match.

No matter who my daughter marries she will have children of the City faith, that I can guarantee and I will also guarantee they will be completely sing the city song loud and proud!!

I love to see women at a football match as its an assurance of the next City cicyle.

Watched the Aris fans tonight they were orchestrated by a handfull of guys who were bare chested.
Stand up sit down turn round left leg in right leg out shout clap all on cue and thought it all quite sad.
Noisy yes but that too fell into the "be manipulated" mode to boot.
We are as a fan base the exact opposite
Motivated by passion without external control and an inherant sense of humour, unpredictable and alive in the sense that we individually react to circumstances in a match, we are not told what to do or how to act its a natural reaction from us and not contrived.
So if you enjoyed thier match day "reportiore" try and read George Orwell 1984 and work out if you wish to be instructed on how to act at a football match or life in general

yeah right. It was Big Brother telling us to shout for our team, that's why
we travelled 1500 miles and spent a fortune for just a day of fun. Get a life.

Re: Message to all Aris Salonika fans

they were entertaining but not exactly spontaneous is it tbh

I love to shout sing and chant but I don't want to be orchestrated ta or I'd join a choir or summat

but fair play to them they made a din and obviously had a good time despite getting thoroughly tonked :-)

mate we should bombard the teams emails or I dont know, create facebook groups, gather support, whatever....to play a friendly this summer IN GREECE and invite maybe 5,000 - 6,000 city fans to return the favour...last week only 1000 got to experience the fun, it could easily be more....

it has to happen, im sure if the support is there the clubs will agree.

I am up for this mate

You dont need me to tell you Aris would be up for it...look what happened for a friendly with BOCA ffs. Aris - City would be great this summer.

Re: Message to all Aris Salonika fans

Our away support and chants in european games are fine thanks.

We are not sheep.

It is not an episode of Glee.

Be jealous keyboard warriors if you want but it's not for me or all the blues I travel with thanks.

So stick it up your arse.

I sort of agree. Its more to do with the prawn sandwich brigade and lgihtweight supporters than women though. I support both Burnley and City ( Mums side/Dads side) but due to living near Burnley still I have a season ticket for Burnley and just get a ticket to City when Burnley are away or City are playing midweek e.g. tonight. Back to my point, at the Burnley - Blackburn match last season I was stood up at the start of the game and some man near me (I wasn't obscuring anyones view due to their being no seats behind me) told me to sit down. I told him where to stick his sit down. Where I have my season ticket is mostly where the on the day fans sit so he wasn't even a season ticket holder and had the cheek to tell me to sit down when he'd only come for our big game of the season. Later on due to a number of complaints about my (and these are the actual words used) "rowdiness" I was escorted from the ground.

It's the lgihtweight fans that are taking the atmosphere away, it's happen all over England from Premiership down to league 2. Our culture has lost the atmopshere that the Greeks showed tonight. The games a victim of its own success. We need the lightweight fans to fund the game but we'd rather not have them. In fact Burnley - City was one of my favourite matches last season. After 7 minutes most of the lightweight dickheads had walked out and then we started having a bit of fun and banter, how it should be.

Re: Message to all Aris Salonika fans

i was suggesting a friendly between the teams as a sign of friendship...i dont know if something got lost in communication?

It's teams like Aris and Poznan why the Europa League is underrated. Could you imagine Aris or Poznan at the swamp, they would show the fucking scum up! Mickey Mouse cup my arse!
BlueRoscoe - couldn't agree with you more. Had some great trips that I would never get to do if it was not for City and the likes of Juventus have been the most disappointing. Only had 3 years of european action in my lifetime and enjoyed everyone with each being a different experience. Happy days...

I wish I had your experiences with European away games! Booked my flights for Dublin tonight though!

correct & the people who complain that we dont do it ask youself this, if some bloke gets on the track next home game & tells you when to sing & when to clap you`re going to do exactly as you`re told arent you ? you know youre fucking not. Its regimented ,scripted & pathetic imo.

To be fair I agree with some of that. However, we're never going to make COMS an intimidating place if we can only get a couple of hundred fans signing every now and again.

We've been at COMS now for x amount of years and there's still no banter between blocks 111, 110, 109 and the South Stand. We should be bouncing off each other and singing songs to one another across the away fans by now. But it isn't happening.

Take away the guys that orchestrate the European away fans and you're still left with 3,4,5000 fans that all sing, clap, etc, together. If we could get those numbers together singing en-masse, COMS would have a great atmosphere. To get to that point, it first takes some organization.

And yes, you're absolutely spot on about our banter with the away fans in the PL. I don't care what any other fans say, nobody does it better than us.
