Friend of mine was broken into during the day. Nothing taken. Police advised her to leave her car keys in prominent spot near the door. They said if the thieves get your car thay will piss off and not bother you. Not entirely convinced.

Trouble is they would take one look at my car & decide it was quicker & safer to walk.

The baseball bats are 'dotted around the house' are they hidden ? If not what happens when you leap out if bed to find they are armed with your baseball bats ?

They're behind things near doorway entrances. Plus, that's why the snooker balls are in the socks next to the bed.

I've also got all my cast iron weights in a room next to the top of the stairs overlooking the balcony. Good luck walking up there without needing a new head.

It's times like these where I am happy with my lava filled moat and drawbridge. Pots of hot oil to be tipped over the ramparts for any unlucky fucker who can get past my three headed Chernobyl dog (Snuffles by name). Then there's Igor, my cross-eyed 6 foot 8 Latvian armed with a mace. He can only say "Igor" but that's fine as I'm not the chatting type.

Loads of people on our estate have those ring doorbells, fully loaded cameras and alsorts but they still get their doors, windows and cars checked every now and then. We have none of that, we just make sure everything is locked overnight because what else can you do?

All most thieves want is a quick win where you leave a door unlocked, they can nick a few things and get out without anyone knowing.

For people like Cancelo it's a bit different and they need a lot of security, his watch alone is probably worth the price of an average house.
