Arsenal (A) | Community Shield | Post-match Thread

Plenty of bellends in our end, specifically the lower tier behind the goal, on Sunday.

You knew what sort of crowd it was going to be, you knew about the boycott, you knew and could see around you that there were a lot of children and families in areas they wouldn't be for a cup final or important game.

Why spend all day disrespecting people who aren't standing up, calling them not real fans and genuinely being nasty, vile and abusive to them? And I was one of those who you were targeting because I had my wife and son with me, and I'm a better fan than you who were clearly smacked off your tits from the powder with your man bags.

We have an element of idiots within our support, which I suspect most clubs do, that just want to pile into the same row as their mates and be a general nuisance to all around them. I've seen it all before but there were a lot of young kids, tourists etc. in our end on Sunday and it looks unwelcoming and quite pathetic.

Grow the fuck up.
ah the old top fan brigade, what they are to young and stupid to realise is that as you get older priorities change, doesnt mean you are any less of a fan, just means you're less of a dickhead

What bad times have you seen?

It‘s all relative, I suppose. Different clubs have different expectations. Bad times for us is not challenging for titles and apart from last season, we’ve been wide of the mark pretty much these last 2 decades. Now that City has reached the pinnacle not just of English football but of world football, I’d imagine your expectations have changed from say, where they were 15 years ago?

The arsenal fans are extremely annoying. They’re calling a meaningless competition which they had no right to be in and won by penalties via a last minute bs deflection “overcoming the hurdle” against us? The fact we kept them at bay with their strongest XI bar Jesus with our players who are no where near up to the fitness levels yet is a big positive for us and actually is kinda disappointing from arsenal who had a decent spell in the 1st half but were nothing special 2nd half.

The Champions or Double Winners should be offered the option,by the FA, of holding the CS at their home ground or Wembley.

Some would opt for Wembley for the novelty, City would probably opt for the Etihad for the convenience and consideration of our fans.

In the case of Double Winners they should also have the option of choosing the opponent including a foreign opponent.

City v ......make your choice !!
Real Sociadad....with Dave Kun,Abba,Vinny,Dino,Joey,Nigel,Leroy,Fabian,Jolson,SWP +++ guesting for RS

Seeing them winning fuck all this season will be glorious.
Must be something about teams who wear red that makes them unbearable cunts.

It kind of says you’re a well supported club with passionate fans who’ve seen not just the good times but the bad ones as well…however, I think that’s true of most clubs

Well try telling that correct analogy to your fanbase and the rest of the brain dead trolls who can't see it. I'd actually say as a club and fanbase we've had a chequered rollercoaster history to better most clubs.

Every club has its idiots - I can’t be held responsible for those who support Arsenal, nor for their often moronic behaviour. Which is why I never watch AFTV.

i went on to youtube for that atv, what a load of tossers, i just pointed out to 1 who said community shield is more better then the super cup, that you had to win a champs league to be in that, and to point out to him that you have to win the premier league or fa cup to be in c ommunity shield both of which arsenal hadnt won, he wasnt pleased or atv wasnt as well as some come back at me but i took all the fuckers on and got blocked LOL

What bad times have you lot experienced? Eighth in the top flight? Ooh my heart bleeds for you brave little soldiers

In my comment, I referred to ‘most clubs’ for a reason. Not specifically Man Utd, Liverpool or us, for example. City fans of over 20 years or more who have largely stuck with their club through thick and thin deserve credit and to enjoy their current success. I really have no animosity towards City.

I guess it means different things to different supporters.

I personally regard it as a pre-season game and a chance to improve fitness. A win is a bonus, but I actually couldn't care about the result.

Rags and dippers tend to glorify their wins of the CS, and dismiss it when they lose. City fans are generally much more realistic as individuals .

You choose, but please don't generalise for all supporters.
I care that much I’ve not been to one Community shield or Charity shield gave ever. Don’t fucking care. Meaningless.

I’m an old git and so this is the second, albeit more successful period and sandwiched in between was our journey to the 3rd tier.

I have no expectations as such and if the success ends tomorrow then I will be grateful for what I have experienced.

I truly hope you are relegated as you clearly have no fucking idea.
