Arsenal (A) - PL Post Match Thread

Set up not to lose . Get some wingers on and tear a new arse in these clubs . Wish we had signed Leroy !

Defensively we played really well, especially considering we had no Rodri, however we couldn't get up the pitch in any meaningful way and our attacking plan relied on doing exactly that so we offered zero threat all game. Seemed to play like we were 5-0 up and had no intention of scoring.

Think pep got the attacking side of our game badly wrong again, we had to adapt to the extra defensive responsibility put on so many of our more attacking players but we didnt. He seemed to expect them to do more defensively and then also do the samr attacking roles theyre used to. We had about 5 minutes in their half when stonrs came on and that was the sum total of our attack today. We had to use the direct route more to get up the pitch and miss out the midfield which was the weak link, instead we did nothing.

Our very good start to the season has turned into a shit one within a week. 2 loses already and we've played nobody before today. Obviously its not panic stations, we know what we can do when it comes to it but we've never had such a small squad before. We've seen how threadbare we look with just 2/3 injuries, we can expect that many injuries many times throughout the season, if we cooe as well as we have done in this period, were winning nothing. Got a seriously brutal run after the international break. The whole team needs to step up 2 or 3 gears and pep needs a rocket up his own arse and create a way of playing that sees us create opportunities and not just rely on somebody to do something out of nothing as we have done for large parts of thr season so far if we are to get through to christmas in a good place.

As for Arsenal, they were only missing Saka, They won and that's what matters at the end of the day but it was a fluke goal. they didnt impress me in the slightest. There's just nothing fearful about them. Liverpool are far more of a threat and Spurs could be too if they continue as they've started.

Fucking gash. Didn’t even try to win the game, Arsenal did and got the luck as a result.

3 domestic games without Rodri and all 3 terrible performances and lost. Worrying lack of plan B.

One shot on target trying not to get beat, when it comes down to it you're always vulnerable to that sort of shitty little goal.

Let's get Rodri back, let's get Stones fit and then let's work it out from there.
When Stones came on he looked class for 5 minutes and the game went in our favour, but he clearly was nowhere near fit and faded.

Pathetic. You had one job. Beat those fuckers. Now all I am hearing is how they will win the league and they are the best young side of a generation. Dismal.

Not an unexpected result considering who was missing and also that City don't get going until mid October. Defensively we were excellent especially Gvardiol who looks in imperious form. However, going forward we offered very little and Haaland looked disinterested which is slightly worrying.

One thing which needs to be addressed if not in January, but next Summer is adequate cover for Rodri.
Disinterested…….he got fuck all service!!

City were missing Rodri and of course De Bruyne is out

Both teams looked like they played for a draw. It took a shit deflection to win it.

Not the end of the world if you're a City fan. You always come good the business end.

I have to say, Haaland is the most prolific scorer I've ever seen but if he's not fed he's the laziest man in the world lol
Worked his ass off against Forrest second half, fuck off.

We lost to a major deflection in our 3rd away game on the trot.
We had no KDB, or Rodders. Jack and JS. One back but still not up to speed. We need to pick out Erling a lot better than we have done, or he becomes a passenger.
We still need an out and out left back.
It was like playing with 10 men with Haaland. He was non existent today. No creativity! pass back, sideways, back then sideways again repeat and rinse.

We played with very little ambition and got what we deserved.

Can't even complain about the deflection because Jack's goal in the same fixture last season took a big deflection which won us the game and arguably swung the title race in our favour.

The most dissapointing thing is not losing three points but the belief and momentum it will give Arsenal.

Let's hope this is just our usual slow start and we kick on after the international break.
