A game we could have at least drawn without the 2 usual catastrophic errors. Arsenal couldn't believe their luck. No we are not a great team anymore but we dont help ourselves do we.

Just when you think it cannot get worse....Stones with probably the worst PL shot-defending ever, beyond shocking! No ability to do anything meaningful against any sort of organised defence, no ability to control the game, conceding from any possible situation and willingness to surrender at the first push, this team together with its manager is completely gone.

If we could actually defend well after we score we would be the most dangerous side in Europe never mind the Premier league. We used to be impeccable and not make any fatal mistakes but now it's happening quite regularly whether it's losing a lead or not holding on to what we have. At home it's not so bad because we have the huge support and can correct the errors but in general once a half baked press is applied in our final third it seems we just fold and commit mistakes and our discipline goes. The third goal deflated us whatever about their second.
Pep has implicitly stated all of this in his post match interview tonight.. He thought that we really played well for 60 minutes bar the early mistakes but just couldn't continue to do our duty. He says we will learn. I think we will.
I'm not concerned about Real Madrid. We can give Liverpool a fright. Newcastle as well. We have those two at home. Forest is difficult away. Spurs , you never know. We need Eddy back ASAP.
If we get one or two signings in the next 24hrs that might be a great boost.

Arsenal are a bizarre club with some sort of divine right, for reasons I don’t understand.

We never had any truck with their fans at all until Emmanuel Adebayor scored that goal way back in 2009, when they totally lost their shit, and they never regained it.

I understand that they think they're bigger and better than us. After all, they're a red cartel club - albeit the smallest of that unholy trinity - and yes, they have won more than us domestically, although the majority of their honours came in the last century. Their grudge against us seems to have been born purely out of envy: that they should have won some of our trophies. The same argument the Rags and Littlewoods trot out. Unlike the Rags and Littlewoods, however, Arsenal Football Club themselves decided to take it a step further with the infamous letter in December 2012, just months after City had won the Premier League for the first time and suddenly the writing was on the wall for the old order: the Red-Top Cartel. True, the Rags and Littlewoods supported them in their quest, but let’s not forget that Arsenal led the way and have kept this particular plate spinning.

City are off it this season, well off it, there are no other contenders to speak off and, barring a failure of Devon Loch proportions, Littlewoods have got the League sewn up. Arsenal are out of the FA Cup and it’s unlikely they’ll beat Newcastle in the League Cup. They’re faring well in the Champions League but still, nobody but the most avid Gooner expects them to win it.

They won today fair and square. The reality is that they rarely beat us these days - something like two wins in the last ten games. And they rarely win anything else either. There’s zero chance of them staying humble because they never were, but let them enjoy their day. It’s likely all they’ll have.

Correct about Aguero, he hit the ground running. David Silva found his feet after he scored against Blackpool and that was in the October 2010. From then on he was superb.

Yes this overview is spot on. Ive always said as long as we score goals we can get away with a few errors at the back but we just dont create enough clear cut chances and have a shit defence. Bad recipe.

Even though you somewhat agreed with the analysis of my statement I don't agree with giving the youth a chance os the way forward. The sad reality is that the youth players we have now are not up to scratch. And even if Pep played all of them people would still criticise him.

I'm not saying throw them all in but surely they must warrant some game time in our current situation as like I said they can't do any worse than our seasoned pros who've legs have gone.

I liked the look of o'reilly in pre season. And thought he could do a job sporadically when rodri might need a rest. We won't know how good they really are in his system until they're tested in the prem, not against salford in the cup.

Yes, at one point I thought their supporters were refereeing the match. Every time their supporters shouted or screamed the ref blew for a foul.
