Good result but in truth a rather patchy performance. Some very sloppy passing (Kompany and Gundogan) but some absolutely sublime as well. Walker and Aguero very impressive again.
The second half performace looked like the players were trying to save energy for sunday. Disagree about Kompany. Thought he had a flawless game in my opinion. According to whoscored.com he had a 86 % pass completion, only Gundogan and Sane were better with 92 & 94 %. His passing was superb under pressure in the build up to the 3rd goal, and even had a phenomenal long range pass to Sane in the second half.

However, this is the second time Sané has wandered into a potentially offside position on a City goal. It would have been very easy for the linesman to raise his flag and let the ref know that Sané was in an offside position and looked like he may have been crossing the keepers sight line for the shot.
Sané had a damned good game and got some MOTM plaudits, so I’m not trying to say he played poorly. But, he needs to not ”switch off” when he doesn’t have the ball, especially when he wanders into the box on an attack. He is a very young lad and will continue to learn his craft under Pep. Indeed, in his after-match interview he gave Pep props for improving his game.
