Arsenal (A) - Post-Match Thread

"all that money and they have to cheat to win :( and who does Ederson think he is"

He admitted it was a penalty for the shirt pull alone, then their player tries to cheat by scuffing the penalty spot up. Bernardo didn't dive either. How cant they not see the leg go across him before he starts to go down? Theirs should have been looked at too, not going to defend that but really one decision is what this massive fuss is about. Imagine if they'd have had some of the refs we've had to put up with in recent years, their heads would explode.

We were lucky to come away with 3 points, Arsenal fans think they deserve a trophy for playing well against City. My how times have changed. The entitlement of the corrupt old big sly 3 is still alive and still as annoying as ever. I will be routing for West Ham to get top 4 over Arsenal just to spite that bald idiot on AFTV.
This sums up soo much of their storm in a teacup.
Sense of entitlement amplified by a lack of emotional control from both fans and players.

I've already posted on this thread that we have supporters claiming we were shit or awful when it simply is not true; it's certainly not backed up by stats - and I don't want to read bollocks about not needing stats when lots of folk need Specsavers.

Our level is so high that our below par is a long way from shit and usually still higher than our opponents. This was a fairly even game until the sending off, we were fortunate with that but Arsenal were fortunate to have the week off.
We're used to battering sides and totally dominating games. We were never going to do that today. We eked out a great result.

Arsenal played very well in the first half and deserved the lead, but I thought City defended brilliantly in the main. Once we equalised, Arsenal nearly scored via a defensive mix up, but thanks to Ake we didn’t concede, and then we managed the game well. Pep was right, overall Arsenal probably played better, but their self-discipline cost them the game. I was feeling relieved but understood why City found it tough, but the MUEN player ratings are a disgrace, Ake was immense today, and got a 6 FFS!

I haven't seen any of these decisions that media arseholes and Arsenal fans are moaning about. I'll watch the extended highlights later and form a view.

But if we got lucky with something, it's just karma finally paying those twats back for Malcolm Macdonald's blatant dive to win the penalty that beat us in the League Cup QF replay in January 1978. If I say Alf Grey, older Blues will fully understand.
For some weird reason i recall that game, I was thirteen at the time.
my mate who was a Utd fan got took to the first game at Maine Road.
there was 57,000 at the replay and thousands locked out, not bad for a shit cup that no one has ever cared about.
