Arsenal (A) - Post-Match Thread

Jings, the level of crap emanating from the media post match about the VAR calls....quite disturbing. Cannot recall so much debate about Salah's fall in the box after a small tug from Dias last season at Anfield....was anybody calling Salah a diver after that penalty call? If that was a penalty then so was ours today because Xhaka had more of Silva's shirt than Dias ever did...sheer hypocrisy of the media

Funny that everyone's now so convinced that there are so many clear decisions against City. Watch the Arsenal Fan TV live stream of entirely Arsenal fans watching the game live.

24:08 the Arsenal penalty claim
1:24:35 the penalty
1:30:37 the red card

These Arsenal fans basically accept all of the decisions as they happen. Only the first one they think is probably a penalty, but it's obvious they know it's not clear cut either way.

It's only afterwards the story becomes about "controversial" decisions as journalists go for clicks and engagement.

ive dipped into aftv and ‘lee’ is clipped up saying theirs was a ‘clear penalty’ and the presenter agreeing.

id say either way it was given you stay with the on field decision - its not clear from any angle really without getting out the high speed slow mo camera.

we seem to be slipping back into the mindset of VAR being used to re-referee the game no matter how long the stoppages take.

There really needs to be a change back to what i thought was happening in the Euros where only clangers got overturned - both for offsides and fouls and the refs and linesman should be told that they need to get it right on the pitch and not wait for VAR to make the decision.

For starters theres still way way too many penalties.

Missed the whole game. Late, late night. Set alarm for 7.30 a.m to get up and watch but when it went off thought sod this and went back to sleep. So all I've seen is a Guardian report that says Arsenal were the better team. And City won.
Bacon butty now and watch the highlights.
Not prepared to suffer for the cause, eh? Pfft; lightweight.

Bernardo is not a diver. You could see his shirt was being pulled. How is it not a penalty? No debate imo.

Didn't one of those arseholes stop Rodri from giving his shirt to a City fan?
Yes and they were being difficult when Ederson and some of the others were trying to give their shirts to kids. Happy to do that but turn a blind eye from stuff being lobbed by Arsenal fans.
