Watching the highlights again didn't notice the great cross from Zinchenko came off Nketiah's shoulder. Other chance he had was worse, he saw it all the way and Akanji completely left him drawn away by another player. Jesus scored a fair few for us with his head, think he'd have put at least one of those away.

On third goal Jorginho basically dropped into back line to mark Haarland, Partey would have been in position to confront Gundogan. Zinchenko maybe should have reacted faster to De Bruyne as should know what he's about.

That is a problem with Akanji. He does get drawn our of position. Dias already had that player covered.

Perhaps it's been commented on before now, but why was Gabriel only given a yellow for the foul on Haaland. Identical to the Cancelo Fulham incident, which everyone said was a cast iron red! We really are being reffed differently this season.

We didn’t intend to have so little possession. I just think Arsenal were able to play with more control than us, in general. The difference was we were actually quite efficient in pouncing on their errors, whereas ours went unpunished. I think in general play, build up/control etc they were better than us on average over the full 90 mins. But where we were better than them was in both boxes and that makes a huge difference.

The "official view" appears to be that Arsenal were the better team but lost because of silly mistakes. I can't accept this. The first half was fairly even but the second belonged clearly to City. I thought Arsenal's penalty smacked of an attempt to make up for a clearly wrong decision on Saturday, but it is clearly monstrous to do this at City's expense. It was most clearly analysed by a poster who said (and I don't quote), okay that can be given as a penalty - but it NEVER is, until it's against City. Our goal from KdB was a beauty - yes, the result of a defensive mistake, but how many teams would have exacted the full penalty? And this holds good for our other two goals. They began with an error (do goals ever not?!) but it was the high quality of City's play which turned them into match winning goals. How many other teams could have done that. And this is important for us. We hear that last night was a big victory, but as yet it is only a potentially big victory - we have to ensure we take full benefit from it by not dropping any more "silly" points.

What really impressed me about last night was our game management. Arsenal were a better side than I thought they could be, but I thought we kept Martinelli, Odegaard and Saka quiet and as the game went on it was increasingly played in those areas of the pitch we wanted and at the tempo which suited us. Not the swashbuckling City of 2017-18 but a much more streetwise and experienced team.

Did a quick reckon up on the 'good' chances missed from each side - they could have had 2 or at best 3 more. We could have had about another 4 at least.
Fair result on the overall balance of play .

By the way Liverpool fans are really bitter that we are still fighting for the league and they are now irrelevant in the league.

I got a message sent to me this morning from Liverpool fan. He clearly watched the entire game as he broke down all Pep's tactics. He was bashing Pep's tactics and said we only won because we have world class players.

City has turned into a great obsession for them. They just can't let it go.

That's the satisfying part...we can claim to have been practically perfect and comparably better than anyone else...AS WE HAD TO BE.

Would have been rescinded, just like the yellow was.

Does beg the question, though, just how bad can a challenge be and still get away with it if the attacker is later determined to have been offside?
