I don't buy that Sane has been carrying any kind of injury. Pep is clearly unhappy with how he's returned after the summer. He started on the bench for the first two pre-season games, didn't even feature in the third and was hauled off at half time against Chelsea when there were no actual signs he was carrying a knock.

I totally trust Pep on this one. Besides, an angry Sane with a point to prove being thrown on against tiring legs for the last half hour could serve us very well.

If anything, i felt that Gundogan might have slipped behind Foden in the midfield pecking order so i'm surprised he starts ahead of Kev but Xhaka and Ramsey are notoriously bad at tracking runners from midfield and Gundogan can definitely offer a goal threat finding space with late runs into the box.

Still confident and that's an amazing bench to win the game late on.
I agree with you re Sane. Think it’s work rate rather than injury. Pep will only call that out after the event.

Going to be such an interesting match. Starting without the two main architects of the centurions season. What does Pep have in store...

Pep said, when asked last week, that Leroy had taken a knock in the first half. That’s why he was replaced.

Surprised both komps and Ota not starting. Thpught at least one would have. And KDB not starting. Pogba played in the WC final and still started couple days ago
That's Peg, this is Pep. Kev will get 30 minutes

And looked not quite up for it.

I have no doubt Kevin would play better, mind, but perhaps not quite up to his best.

I'm sure I'll get moaned at but it's a disappointing selection.

Bellerin is celebrating not facing Sane
Aubameyang is celebrating not facing Kompany
And everyone connected to Arsenal celebrating no KDB or Silva

I hope we aren't needing to throw on KDB & Sane to salvage something b/c going behind will be difficult with the pace they have to counter. Rather have them start and demoralise them by smashing them early.

Bellerin celebrating?? Cause Mendy and mahrez is going to be a walk in the park lol

Would be happy with a cagey 1-2 win. That would keep the team hungry and grounded ahead of a long, very winnable series of matches.
