Arsenal announce redundancies and financial issues

When arsenal and the rest of the red alliance set up FFP to stop clubs going bankrupt, you'd think they would have organised a reserve fund to help out stricken clubs

Football is rotten. This pandemic was an opportunity to reign in the obscene amounts of money paid for players and too players. Looks like it's being used as an opportunity to cream off even more, 55 families will be l without an income and experienced in an industry that won't be employing anyone. Cu*ts like Levy will use this as an opportunity to lay off 110 people. Ashley will be calling in 220 for a chat. I wish I wasn't addicted to the game because I absolutely hate most things about it.

Don’t really see the problem. It’s a different arm of the business, probably hospitality staff and/or marketing for fans.

There is no business, doesn’t make sense to keep paying them for nothing.

I assume all our staff are employed by CFG, and not Manchester City Limited (or whatever we’re called at companies house), would be nice if we kept ours on. Fans won’t be back for the new season though so we’ll see.

They’re all going to do it now though.

They could afford to keep these people employed. Covid will be used by businesses worldwide to reduce expenditure to ensure maximum return for stakeholders is maintained.

Same happened in 08 with the credit crunch.

Who without either leaving a company or getting a promotion has had a pay rise in line with inflation over the last decade?

Not many I'm guessing...
