Arsenal announce redundancies and financial issues

Winning the FA cup only for something like this to become public a few days later... really is a roller coaster
 
The first club of many I would imagine , in reality a full season approaching without any match day income , as with many other sectors of industry and commerce the shit will be hitting the fan between now and Christmas.
 
Playing devils advocate, could it be that the redundancies are just those that are involved in the hospitality side of the club and with no supporters being allowed at least for the foreseable it could be that they simply won't have jobs for them.

But if that is the case, could they not be deployed elsewhere?

Willian at 130k a week for the year is 6.76 million.

They could pay 225 staff at 30k for the next year.

Instead they fuck off 55 citing this virus.

Its disgusting.

I wonder where the scum journos articles will be about this?
 
I said a while back we have no idea how clubs will cope with what is going on. They all have a different mix of supporter / match day income and sponsors. And the cash flow of clubs is pretty murky at the best of times. We should keep our heads down as much as possible and see where we are in 6 or 12 months time. Loads of clubs wont survive this - how high up the league it goes we will have to see.

If the players let this happen then they along with the management are an absolute disgrace
These guys earn obscene money (more than they need) and if they can’t work together as a club to sort this out then they all are ****s of the highest order
Money is in the game it’s just spent very badly
I’m not an arsenal fan but I’m so angry at them

Yes but they are sacking staff ‘organically’.

I’ll bet that’s a comfort for those dismissed.
