Arsenal away pre match thread

it is steeped in us to be pessimistic before every game lol! When you consider our record away to Arsenal, our 'style' of play and theirs and our seemingly total inability to defend you can see why people aren't hopeful. It is called being a realist it doesn't mean we support them any the less or hope we are proved wrong.

See, I don't believe this. It is called hedging your bet. If we do get spanked, well, you can tell yourself you aren't disappointed or surprised, and you'll have the internal (and external) comfort of having "predicted" it. And if we win, then you can revel in the fact that we won and being flat-ass wrong won't matter a bit.

So as I see it, you risk nothing emotionally.

Not a criticism -- I completely understand this behavior. But don't call it "realism."

Negativity is just at present as much as i love CITY ,we have not been playing well this season Without Kompany we look so weak at the back, and in general we have gone into many games tactically inept yes we have had injuries ,but with the size of squad we have it cannot be used as an excuse ,Also we have started getting a couple of hammerings and frankly i thought we were well over that

Supporting City is one big emotional risk.

Indeed. We know we haven't played well, but we also know we have the capability of playing quite well and have done several times this season. How many entered the Chelsea match earlier with the same dread and fear? Or Sevilla away?

Conversely, how many were confident ahead of Spurs away? Or expected a cakewalk against Villa?

I personally am excited about Monday, and pleased with the rest we'll finally get before Monday. I know playing well we can beat this side, though of course I'd feel better about that with VK in. The uncertainty is what makes it so fun to anticipate (in any sport).

reading some of the comm on here i don't know why the fuck the team will even bother to show up for this game.....the negative on here it's sickening tbh....

They probably wont...

In what way is it sickening? I bet most neutrals/pundits/experts etc will have Arsenal down to win the game rather comfortably, why can't City fans think that too? When i get inside the ground i'll be cheering the team on as much as any other City fan in the crowd, it doesn't change my opinion on how the game will pan out though.

We've not won a league game away from home in over 3 months now, THREE months. And that's despite playing bottom of the league during that period. We've not been unlucky during that time, we've been outplayed most of the games and have shown zero signs of changing anything to combat it. Most teams are playing the same way and cruising to victory against us. And now we're coming up against top of the league away from home.

The fact that we have not won away since September, and Vinny will not be back, Means something has to change. You don`t lose to your rivals, remember how happy people were that we did not lose to the rags. We can not afford any passengers, so Bony should not start. Start without a recognised striker, unless Aguero is fit, but I would have him on the bench. Flood the midfield and play on the break with De bruyne and Sterling, if we play a high line, then we will have big problems. Defend as a team, any chance we create, take it. Job done.

Second in the table ! League cup semi final and top of our champions league group. It's no wonder a lot on here are pessimistic. I mean second in the league is discraceful !!!
