Arsenal away pre match thread

The fact that we have not won away since September, and Vinny will not be back, Means something has to change. You don`t lose to your rivals, remember how happy people were that we did not lose to the rags. We can not afford any passengers, so Bony should not start. Start without a recognised striker, unless Aguero is fit, but I would have him on the bench. Flood the midfield and play on the break with De bruyne and Sterling, if we play a high line, then we will have big problems. Defend as a team, any chance we create, take it. Job done.
This ^^ We know it isnt going to happen though :D

Im quietly confident about this game - imo theyre missing their two most influential players in midfield in cazorla and coquelin and dinho toure and delph should really be able to stamp their authority over it. If sanchez plays i doubt hes going to be match fit so not overly worried about that, however if we can have Vinny back then I see it as a solid win. Ridiculous how much of an effect he has on our defence and as much as i like otter, for a 28m defender he should be steppiing up to the mark and leading that backline. Manglers a fucking liability for me - I gave him benefit of doubt last season and beginning of this but hes like a poor mans Savic.

Yep, Mrs Mangles lad is not up to it.

See, I don't believe this. It is called hedging your bet. If we do get spanked, well, you can tell yourself you aren't disappointed or surprised, and you'll have the internal (and external) comfort of having "predicted" it. And if we win, then you can revel in the fact that we won and being flat-ass wrong won't matter a bit.

So as I see it, you risk nothing emotionally.

Not a criticism -- I completely understand this behavior. But don't call it "realism."

You are wrong it IS realism. Our record away to Arsenal, like the dippers,is appalling. I predict we will get beat and i fear we will lose heavily. My reason aside from our record there is the way we are playing. We are allowing almost every side three or four excellent chances a game and only Hart has kept us in it at times.Arsenal's movement and pace is better than anything we have faced of late and Giroud is another threat from set pieces in the air.

Risk nothing emotionally?? I am a nervous wreck most games, especially this season!

we can't afford to lose this 1 and I think we will get a draw! 1-1

Most important single thing about this game? We have nine clear days rest. I am fully expecting everybody to come back – and especially KDB – fully refreshed, and absolutely up for it. How long is it since all the players had a break that long?
None of them need reminding how important this match is. You wouldn't say so on the basis of our recent form, but we can get a result, definitely. By the way, Arsenal have looked far from thoroughly convincing in recent league games. Believe…

The rest will do us good but the gunners will get the same amount of rest too. If we get a fully fit Vinny back and he sets the team up not so open then yes i think we could get at least a draw.If he does his ''We play the same way'' bollocks and no Vinny a hammering.

True, but a number of ours have looked visibly knackered, more so than theirs. KDB is the most flagrant example. We've been carrying three competitions with two (and for a while, three) of our world class players out for weeks on end.
And let's have it right — we've not done too shabbily, while not playing too well ;-)
If we take a whacking next Monday — as everyone expects — well, we'll be four points behind the Arse. Nothing to be complacent about, of course, but just remind me: how many points were we behind Chelsea exactly one year ago?
And the Arse is our last home game, forget it not. Shades of rags in April 2012?
