Arsenal FA Cup SF Post-Match Thread

Complacency kills - on the pitch, in the dugout and in the boardroom. And we have been complacent in all areas since walking off the pitch at Brighton last May. Not ruthless enough in either penalty area and not ruthless enough in replacing good servants of previous seasons who are no longer up to scratch
Can’t afford to waste this transfer window like we have done the previous three

I think we're remarkably loyal to players, which can be commendable, but we may need to be more ruthless.

Pep has been ruthless in the past at other clubs, now we have the monkey of the ban off our backs he has to do it again.

Khaldoon will be fuming imo if we lose against Real and out of CL early.

20 points behind, awful game to go out in FA-Cup and lose vs Real with being 2-1 up after first leg.

All this after Pep really wanted Rodri and Cancelo to improve on an already very strong team (2x PL winners in a row).

Big need for a refresh in the squad but those new signing have to have much better impact than Cancelo or Rodri. Txiki needs to bring in quality not players who are OK (with the price of top class players)

Chelsea is getting stronger slowly, United too, Arteta could turn around Arsenals luck, we have no time to waste we have to improve until they are far from us.

We need to show a good run in CL to save this season imo. t least get into the semis and for that we would need to go past Real and Juventus, very hard if we take todays performance into account.
We have 3 and half weeks until the Real game and 2 dead rubber PL games until then.

Dont now how but we need to be firing when Real game comes as if we go through next game is just 2-3 days later and 1 game decides it all. high pressure with lot of tactics involved, big stake, does not fill me with confidence.
Largely agree. £120m to not improve the starting XI.

We need more pace in the team in this league.

In this type of game, which has happened domestically 10 times this season Jesus isn’t the answer. Aguero should now be a backup.

Shite really. I’m only hopeful the more we lose we actually finally address the weaknesses in the squad and stop apologising for having money. No one likes us so it doesn’t matter! Just do it once and do it proper.

We need a new wide player who is fast and can score heavy goals.

We need Foden and DeBruyne near the opposition goal not way out wide or really deep.

We need a new DM that can run, tackle and distribute the ball.

We need two new CBs that can run, head it and are good on the ball. I’m not convinced with Garcia. He’s better than Stones and Otamendi, but that bar is low on current form, but he’s slow and short. The kind of player that could well evolve, which suggests he should be 4th or 5th choice but at this stage I’m really not sure.

We need a LB that can defend.

We need to sell the loan army and maybe a couple of the main squad and actually address this stuff.

If we don’t get this summer right we are in the dogfight for CL football. Liverpool will still be the team to beat and Chelsea, Rags and Arsenal are all going to be better than this season. We need to nail this summer. Every target position needs to be properly fixed.
United looks scary going forward now. And Chelsea are in the midst of a recruiting coup. I'm not sure how they are getting away with getting all these good players unchallenged :(

Why not at 30 mins to go have some shots from the edge of the box this will draw players out to block and then giving space around that area. Otherwise it’s pass pass pass dude side side, stupid high cross no end product. Arteta knew this and his plan was you get a few chances take them and defend well you will win, perfect and it worked.
Far to pedestrian in the first half better on the second but if we are going to resort to crosses as plan B we need a tall striker.
