Arsenal FA Cup SF Post-Match Thread

Poor performance but we have a CL title to try and achieve.

We do have issues when aguero is out, and if we choose to believe he will remain injury free next season (when he has struggled with injuries) then we will be shooting ourselves in the foot straight away.

Jesus is good but when he struggles (as he did tonight, and not all his own fault) we do not have an option to change it.

We know we need defensive reinforcements, the fact that our youngest defender tonight was up their with Laporte in terms of performance says it all - and shows we need to sign him up asap

71% possession and 16 shots to 4

It’s happened about 10 times this season so no coincidence. It’s the worst way to lose!! If a team batters you and deserves it you can hold your hand up and take it.. but that Groundhog Day is so frustrating

We need to break the bank for a partner for Laporte and a left back. Final straw with mendy.. he’s been a disaster

Simply, shite. It happens far too often to be a fluke m

Our centre back had more shots that our centre forward! We miss and miss again, I don’t think the team takes scoring seriously as they just expect another chance and in most games that is the case but not a money time

Mendy and Jesus aren’t up to it and I maintain that Sterling is not a left winger

Too many times the ball lands to one of our forwards and they screw it up. Doesn’t matter if it’s Aguero, Jesus, or Sterling, they scorn far too many chances. Until we find someone who is lethally clinical, we will continue to find ourselves in such positions.

Awful by Pep.

We need a huge clear out.

Sterling and KDB were horrific.

Jesus, what’s the point in him?

Mendy played well.

Midfield none existent.

Why won’t he play Foden in CAM?

don’t agree on the huge clear out. We are more then good enough. It’s the defence that needs changing the most.

we need a left back, centre back and someone to replace fern. Other then that we are fine.

ederson, laporte, Walker, De Bruyne, Sterling, aguero, Jesus, mahrez, foden is a great spine to any side

That's a major concern, over reliance on certain players and Aguero is one. When he's gone for good I'm gonna miss him so much, he can make something happen out of nothing
Jesus and aguero miss so many chances
Neither a natural finisher
Sometimes you need to bury one chance to either get ahead or win but we’re incapable of that in the big moments

Tonight I have to take every bit of shit I get of rags
We were horrendous from start to finish, didn’t think it was possible for KDB to be that bad, but to a man we were awful
I’d except Garcia getting bullied but his reading of the game was dreadful
Night to forget and yes we okay like that v Madrid, Munich etc... we could get embarrassed
Like Peps first season but actually not as good going forward

shite

Utter dogshit, shaky defensively and toothless in attack. Rebuild in the Summer required, sell Stones, Otamendi, Gundogan, Bravo and Zinchenko. We need a new cb, new lb and a new striker.

When we play against a decent defence we just resort to aimless crossing and we hardly ever shoot. Absolutely does my nut in.

We play like that against Madrid and we are out

Shameful, both in terms of intensity and intelligence.

Crossing for the sake of it and a front six who all played as individuals.

Laporte looks half the player he was before injury.
Laporte has looked no more reliable than Stones or Otamendi since the restart IMO. Passing shit, making at least one bad error every game.

I'm not one for over reaction but I must say our forwards as a collective were fucking woeful. Every fucking one of them

As for the two goals conceded
First one mendy was left exposed and when he got the chance to close down the cross he was stationary. Meanwhile walker was dreaming about prostitutes instead of watching his man

Second goal, Garcia letting a forward getting a run and not tracking him

A truly forgettable performance all round
