Arsenal fans. Adebayor versus Fabregas.

So whats the deal here then?

I dont see any difference between the two. Adebayor was seen to be courting the attention of Ac Milan and Barca but stayed and got unbelievable abuse. Fabregas has been chasing the arse of Barca all summer but now its fallen through he is staying and all i've seen is countless Arsenal fans bumming him all over the news.

He wants out, its clear as daylight. Are they that blinkered that they think their captain actually wants to be there?
A way at getting at a black player without using racist tones?

Lets be honest, Fab wearing a Barca top too and laughing about it is alot worse than what Ade did to them

That goes without saying.
That goes for every FCs including at City.

adebayor was booed because he was flirting with both barca and ac milan and arsenal fans knew it wasnt the end if he had left them , they had van persie and eduardo at the time . But with fabregas its completely different , adebayor is a very good striker but they knew he could be replaced . fabregas on the other hand is the heart and soul of that arsenal team and is indispensable as unlike ade he cant be replaced as there arent many who do a better job than he does that are available . Arsenal fans knw that they have to adore him or he'll leave and then they're fucked . We'd do the same if tevez was in the same situation
Adebayor has yet to be replaced

The Adebayor I knew was one of the hardest working strikers I had ever seen. He was all heart, and would fight for every inch. Ferdinand called him the toughest striker he had dealt with, and the following season it payed off with 30 goals. We didn't boo Ade because of the way he flirted with Barca/Milan, but with his actions after.

I guess you'd have to see it to believe it. The hardworking striker that was one of my favorite players suddenly stopped tracking back, jogging about like he didn't care and pretty much sulked his way through the 08/09 season. The difference between Ade and Cesc is that Cesc leaves his lungs on the pitch. He scored a penalty for us when he knew his leg was broken, and ran Villa so ragged that he tore a hamstring. Cesc will not do what Ade did.

I meant they could play their game without him , they didnt need him as much as they need fabregas atm . To boo yourown players is just plain right wrong in my opinion

So Arshavin23. You mention what cesc did last season. That season as you refer to could well be like the one you refer to as when Adebayor was your favourite player. You don't know for certain how this summer will have effected Cesc.

He could well turn into a passenger having served you so well. Nobody knows until the season starts.

One certainty however will be your fans speed to turn on him. In the past few seasons I've not heard a set of supporters boo there own players quite like yours.

Without Cesc you are in trouble. He has been playing up all summer, aggitating for a move. As soon as it falls through he "commits" his future to Arsenal. At this point in time what difference is there between him and Adebayor? As I said you don't know how Cesc will react, so why are your fans praising him? He would of been out the door like a shot had you shown him a glimpse.

It's clear that Cesc wants to go back home to Barca, but he conducted himself with class Ade wouldn't dream of having. He kept quiet and left everything in Wenger's hands, amid calls from half the Barca team to join up. Ade openly pushed for moves to Barca/Milan, talking about how we would make money from it, etc. It was shameless, and now he's doing the same to you with Juventus.

Cesc is a model professional, and could have done far worse. Keeping quiet showed respect to not only us, but his friends and family in Barcelona. If Ramsey hadn't broken his leg and if Barca were bidding more than peanuts, he would be there right now. He understands that the club needs him, and that a transfer request probably would have sealed the deal for him.

First of all the Adebayor "quotes" were made up by an Italian paper. They were immediately discredited by us pretty much as soon as they became public. Keep beating on Ade though.

Cesc did not keep quiet. If he wasn't talking he was doing it indirectly through his father.

Obviously Cesc is Arsenal to you so you will naturally keep your tinted specs on. But Cescs heart lays at Barca, his head might just do so as well.

I'm amazed at how fickle you are. It's very selective from where I see it. From an outside point of view Adebayor didn't put in a transfer request either. You haven't convinced me at all of any difference between the two. Both spoke publicly, both commited their future after protracted transfer sagas.

Adebayor was vilified, Cesc is a hero.

Piqué went through the Barcelona academy ranks and then went to the rags and then quickly went back to them. Fabregas has Barca in his heart, but Wenger and Arsenal made him so he owes them a great debt of gratitude for transforming his career and moulding him into the player he is today and helping him fulfil his potential and give him a "2nd career" at Barcelona, when seemingly inevitabely one day he returns.
Missed the point somewhat mate. The op is bang on.

-- Sun Aug 08, 2010 8:49 pm --
