Their dislike for City is almost childlike. I have the displeasure of living in an area where the two local clubs are Southend and Colchester yet a vast number support Arsenal rather thasn their local club.

When they rant the usual rubbish about City, money, runining football, I highlight their clubs own role in the formation of the Premier league, threatening to form a super league if they didnt get a dispropertionate amount of TV revenue, and also highlight they are happy to cherry pick clubs such as Southamptons best players.

I think the REAL thing that irritates them is that some of us tend to think of Arsenal as being just our 'feeder club' ..... that MUST bug them no end ..... they like to think of themselves as being a 'big club'.

There is no real dislike for City. Spurs are our rivals and United and Chelski both get a lot more stick than you do. You just get more than you did because of your changed circumstances.

About the Southend and Colchester thing, do the majority of people in Bury or Stockport follow their local team? No, they are mostly United or City.

Yes, the feeder club thing is irritating. Are you surprised?

Its also true City and Chelski get more stick off Gooners than they do off other clubs. Not sure how that is surprising when we (and arguably Liverpool ) have been the biggest losers following the arrival of Abramovich and Mansour. Its not an issue for United. They had the financial muscle to hang in there. Its not an issue for the other clubs either as they have remained were they were. We on the other hand got knocked down two pegs by Roman and the Sheikh. Would anyone else not be pissed off?

Big club? I suppose everyone has their own definition of what that means. I've never understood how supporting a big club makes you a better person, but for what its worth yes, Arsenal are a big club. Not sure how anyone could argue against that.

Of all the different people from the different areas i've ever come across it's those from London I dislike the most. I have 2 partners from london and they're both the same. We've lost contracts up here because of they're bigger than thou attitude and I have customers that will only deal with me and refuse blankly to ever talk to my other two partners. I don't like to generalise but where Londoners/Cockneys/Southern C***s are concerned I will, they're all big headed, loud mouthed gobby twats to a man.
