Arsenal Fans Today

Love them or loath them - they deserve credit for being so vocal for ninety minutes.

Shame we weren't.

Worst big game home atmosphere in a long time, there was a bizarrely somber mood at the ground today... I think everyone had been watching the rags cheat their way to victory before arriving. South Stand was quiet again, Kippax got some songs going though.
I just said this on the other page
I think the 3rd tiers outsung the singing stand today.
Awful.

Arsenal were the first to challenge the north in the 20s and 30s.

You mean when you cheated to stay in the league, the bought the manager and much of the first team of Huddersfield, who were the most successful club of the time, so that you might win a pot or two?

Well, I for one am impressed. Well done on being far better than us in that respect.

I never said we got to the top in a more ''honourable'' way than you. Most successful clubs get there that way.

I was pointing out why northerners dislike Arsenal and Spurs fans. You never get northerners whining about Palace or QPR fans, even though the people who follow them are likely to be very similar to those at AFC or the yids.

Let's be honest Matty.

Arsenal fans had no interest in City or City fans until we started buying and paying over the odds for your players.

City fans had no interest in Arsenal as we were never a threat to Arsenal, like United have always been.

As for Spurs. That goes back to the 1981 cup final and to an extent to the CL deciders we've had with them.

Plain and simple. Arsenal's hate for City is down to our spending power, buying your players, breaking up the Sky 4 cartel and the power they held, and winning the PL title. End of.

Correct jrb. Throw in the Adebayor goal and Van Persies statement and that's about it in a nutshell.

everything you need to know about the "class" of arsenal.

hypocritical tossers from the top down

And this hatred(?) is being flamed by Wenger and his continual attacks on city and their Spending power.

I dread to think how bad it could be if we'd signed RVP as well.

But but but......They do things the ''right'' way, with a touch of class and honour, surely?

Arsenal fans should have been celebrating a win tonight not a draw.I find it hilarious that they were happy with a draw.I remember when city were getting destroyed 4-0 AFTER 15 minutes at maine road by arsenal reserves

Thanks for reminding me, tried to block it out of my memory!!!

I don't want to get too dramatic on a day when the game began with a tribute to Nicola Hughes and Fiona Bone, but when the atmosphere is like it was today it's nothing short of embarrasing and can't all be blamed on 'newcomers.'

I put it down to an early season hangover. We're not at 100% yet, Vinny's going through a rocky patch and even Joe has dropped some clangers this season. Upfront let's pick a settled strikeforce and stick with it for a while.

Thought the guy in front of me in 307 was going to explode he got that angry - it's not that bad. Unbeaten in the PL, reigning champions, CL fixtures we could only rdeam of five years ago.

Can't believe this thread, too many of you are basing your entire thoughts of Arsenal FC and it's fanbase off a bit of banter you received from a set of away fans. Have a little look on the Arsenal mania forums and the thread about City. Nothing slagging off your support, your players (well bar the odd one or two about Nasri of course ;)) or your club. No mention of history, no bitterness.

I really hope this is just the vocal minority of City fans else it seems it's the City fans which are bitter tonight not the Arsenal ones.
