Last time I saw a goal celebration like that was the Napoli fans in last seasons CL game.
I'd say the age/sex/income/behaviour profile of all big city club's away followings is largely the same. Not identical, and fanbases have their own culture, but close.jrb said:Didsbury Dave said:We went round the lower divisions singing 'you're only here coz its city', 'small town in blackburn', ' shit ground no fans' . 'who the fucking hell are you' and all that to all and sundry. Yet you're all getting uppity because some fans had the cheek to sing songs about us?
Get some perspective. That's what football fans do, take the piss. We've been doing it for years.
Take it as a compliment and get used to it because it means we've arrived. And to classify an entire fan base based on a few songs is idiotic. Arsenals away support probably isn't dissimilar to ours in its makeup: a bunch of pissed up blokes having a laugh.
How can you get pissed on latte and frappuccino?
Come on Dave your havin a larf mate!
Arsenal's away support in nothing like ours. I wouldn't be surprised if a large precentage of them didn't work for the BBC at Mediacity(moved up from London) and lived in Didsbury. ;-)
it says one thing: that we are a good team who other teams fear.kiam06 said:Their world cup style celebrations after getting a point said it all to me.
Didsbury Dave said:We were proud of our support like arsenal are proud of their history. As a football fan you cling to whatever you can. It's no big deal.

How far are Colchester & Southend from Manchester ?franksinatra said:Their dislike for City is almost childlike. I have the displeasure of living in an area where the two local clubs are Southend and Colchester yet a vast number support Arsenal rather thasn their local club.
When they rant the usual rubbish about City, money, runining football, I highlight their clubs own role in the formation of the Premier league, threatening to form a super league if they didnt get a dispropertionate amount of TV revenue, and also highlight they are happy to cherry pick clubs such as Southamptons best players.

Sadly I'll either be 71 or dead by then. :-)
