Can Arsenal cope with the pressure on Sunday? If they go behind and have to come out to play at some stage, it could be very interesting. If they lose, a 5 point gap after only 5 games is huge when it's City that you're chasing.
They'll definitely park the bus just like last season, especially with having no Odegaard but it'll be a big test of their fitness as the match wears on, after a day less to recover from 'Europe' than City, plus the travelling.
Let's hope we produce our A game.

Agreed. Think it'll be another generation before we get games as high quality and high intensity as the ones we've had against Liverpool in the Pep-Klopp era. The 2-1 win at the Etihad in January 2019 remains the highest quality game of football that's ever been played in this country. Two of the greatest teams in English football history going right at each other for 90 minutes at full speed. Still gutted that I was sick that day and had to watch it at home instead, but even on TV it was lightning fast and full throttle. The eventual champions against the eventual European Cup winners - you don't get a better spectacle than that.

Then you had those absolutely amazing games at Anfield, the 2-2 in 2021 and even the 1-1 last season was gripping until the end with Doku hitting the post. And the 2-2 draw back at ours when we were both going for the title in 2022. My heart almost couldn't take them, lol. As amazing as we've been since Pep came, Pep has said it himself that we were only so good because Liverpool kept pushing us to greater and greater heights by being such quality runners-up. I know we like to play down their achievements but 97 points in 2nd place is incredible. Arteta's a great manager and Arsenal are a good side but it's just not the same.
Liverpool being quality runners up has such a nice ring to it.

If we score twice I think we'll get the 3 points

In the same breath, if we struggle to break them down, they could punish us on the break at some point, perhaps later in the game

Will be interesting to see how it plays out, but must admit I think this game will be very close, and we will absolutely have to take any chances that we get

Hopefully the extra days prep will give us an advantage

'Park the bus wankers' who scored 91 goals in the PL last season.

I'm not sure why you think Arsenal should have given up their main strategic advantage against City (the defence, and Haaland being Saliba's little bunny in particular) and instead play into City's hands.

I'd have liked for us to have gone for it and tried to win but it wasn't happening that day, we couldn't get through the City lines. Going more attacking would have played into City's hands. Anyone can see this surely

In the rest of our games we scored a bunch of goals and had the same goal difference as City. We won against all the top 3 teams. We just shat the bed at home to Villa. It happens.

P.S. are Real Madrid 'park the bus wankers' as well? They adopted similar tactics at the Etihad because decent teams figure out where they can capitalise on weaknesses of opponents and adapt their game accordingly.

Not for me, I thought it was a mistake by Arteta. You lot were playing so well I genuinely feared an Arsenal win that day.
I think it was at the end of the season that Rodri said that he knew we would win the league after that match, saying City would never settle for a draw.

The comparisons with Klopp’s team have obviously touched a nerve but for all his faults he would have gone into that match all guns blazing.

Did Yous get a 91 goals scored trophy or something last season? You keep on banging on about it, As I've already said you've zero to show for it. Yous had the opportunity to stamp your mark on your title aspirations at The Etihad and you lot SHAT YOUR PANTS! That's the day you lot lost the title.

Haaland being Saliba little hunny bunny hahaha you deluded fucking prick, Haaland has won more in the last 12 months than your club has in the last 20 years ffs What's Saliba won since his days at Arsenal other than the Community Shield on pens when you lot celebrated like you won the treble, Pathetic Cunts.

The Champions League is a knockout tournament and Real Madrid did park the bus that night, They felt like their best bet was penalties and it paid off and yet they went on the win a European Cup. You lot parked the bus when you had a chance to go clear at the top and put a dent in City in the process.
You is not plural, unless yous a scouser; )

We have to cut out the half asleep start to games we seem to have adopted this season. I think Arteta will have Arsenal go hell for leather at the start hoping to score, then sit back and try and pick us off on the break as our desperation to equalise becomes more frantic. Other players need to step up to the goalscoring plate as I think they will shackle Haaland pretty effectively. That's why I think Foden and Gundogan will start as they do have a goal in them. Another tough game in prospect.
