Arsenal Post Match Thread.

First of all, can I say how delighted I am with the win, although I was extremely confident going into the game and expected us to win for some reason.

But regards the 1st offside, I didn't think it was, so in an idle moment, I took a screen cap, hoping to be able to show that it was on side. But, I have failed.

Try as I might to adjust the angle of the white line below, I cannot make any adjustment that shows Sane to be on. In fact I have been quite "generous" in positioning it as below - arguably the line should lean backwards a bit more and it would be even more clear. He was offside, however marginally, but off he was. Do I care? No.

There is no daylight between Sane and the last defender - definitely on I tell you!

You should not care. Fractional decisions go for you and against you that is the nature of football and the speed with which it is played. You might have one against us next week and that is also the nature of football as well.

Whether fractionally offside or not the goal was a culmination of good play, applying pressure and poor defending. Arsenal can have little to complain about as they were poorly set up.

We stepped up in the second half and won with 2 goals from our two brightest talents. So glad City prove me wrong.

Contrary to Whinger's comments, the game was an illustration of how video technology would not work in football as even after watching several times there is still an element of doubt in relation to whether the goals were offside.

Spot on Frank and Winger has little to moan about since, as a previous poster pointed out, the Arse have had the benefit of 3 very iffy goals in recent games, particularly the winner at Burnley.
The annoying thing about the Chelsea game is that had we won we would now be only one point behind the Chavs. Ifs and buts I know but people would have a very different view of our season had things gone our way in that game.

Even this photo is not conclusive as the initial contact with the ball could have been made a fraction of a second earlier when Sane was on

Sorry mate, but I tried that too. If I go back a couple of frames to just before the ball was kicked, he's still off.

I agree with all the comments here though - you have to take the rough with the smooth and FFS we get enough of the fucking rough, don't we. Mean spirited and whinging of Arsene Whinger to whinge about refereeing decisions when he should have just said they were outplayed and the better team on the day won.

Exactly this. Subjective judgement calls will still need to be made sometimes, even with video replays.

The 2nd one yes. The 1st one, no, he's off.

Incidentally and off-topic perhaps, but I am far from convinced that Leicester's 4th goal actually crossed the line, goal line technology or no goal line technology. The BT Sport "animation" was basically a made up cartoon that proved nothing. Clearly the ref got the signal, but how accurate is the system. I looked at it again and again and am not at all sure it was completely over the line. But since that was 4-0 at the time, seemed somewhat irrelevant.

On my way back to Devon, apart from the result and the fight shown the best part was the South stand singing "one nil to the Arsenal". Only downside is its £3.30 a pint in Mother Macs but its still better than any W/spoons type shitholes.
Great day worth the journey.
