Arsenal Post Match Thread.

The 2nd one yes. The 1st one, no, he's off.

Incidentally and off-topic perhaps, but I am far from convinced that Leicester's 4th goal actually crossed the line, goal line technology or no goal line technology. The BT Sport "animation" was basically a made up cartoon that proved nothing. Clearly the ref got the signal, but how accurate is the system. I looked at it again and again and am not at all sure it was completely over the line. But since that was 4-0 at the time, seemed somewhat irrelevant.

1:52 in the clip shows hes not offside in real time play so what are you on about? WUMMING?

There's a case for both to go either way imho.

Although Sane is centimetres too advanced, there's no way the linesman can be expected to see that, at speed, and if in doubt he cannot say offside. There must have been doubt, so the correct decision was made, even though Sane was further forward than the rules allow.

The 2nd one is also contentious. Clearly Silva did not obscure Cech's view and there can be no debate about that. But did his movement towards the ball put Cech off, and perhaps cause Cech to be concerned about covering the far post, thus enabling Sterling to score at the near post? Maybe. But it is hardly "clearly offside" as Wenger would have everyone believe.

It matters not. Neither were given and Wenger cannot change the result by moaning about it. He should fucking man up and accept defeat with some dignity for once.

To think we would have been inundated with gooners today, thank you blueboys

I thought both were onside, the media can swivel

When they scored i booted the cat (again) brilliant performance 2nd half

Who fucking cares even if they were offside? Lost count of the number of times the officials have screwed us over this season. Bout time we got some decisions go our way.

Neither were offside, not by even by cm's.

Perfectly good goals,to suggest otherwise you're either bitter,on the wum or you dont know the rules.

It was a terrible 1st half from both sides, but what a 2nd half! Will to win, and some excellent individual performances.

Forget tactics even at this level a huge part of football is about confidence and when the equaliser went in it just surged through us. I think our two central defenders and Fernando were outstanding. 2nd half they won challenge after challenge to keep our attacks going. You could see that 2nd goal coming. But I am sure Arsenals meek play gave City the belief that we could win the gme.

Whatever, Sunday reminded me of what a great game football is. That was a shot in the arm
Do you not realise you posted the same deluded shit in the thread early morning?
Or do you just enjoy the negative trolling when City win?

Without question,he's the biggest troll on the forum - its difficult when so much shite comes from one direction but its best not to feed.

City were superb and they prevented anything meaningful coming from Arsenal, that is the reason we won the game, nothing else.

Sorry mate, but as you will know I am neither, but you are wrong about this. Sane is about 10cm too far forward as my picture shows on P.85. Please don't make me also show the frames before the ball is kicked and after it as well. I can't be arsed and it doesn't matter, but before, during and after, he is off and I am not bitter and not a wum.

The goal was allowed so why the debate, final score 2-1 for city Q.E.D. :-)

I've just seen the video at #901, and, for the first goal, only one Arsenal player briefly put his arm up for offside, but put it down again within a second. They were all looking at each other when the ball went in, rather than going to the ref. Says it all, really.

Indeed, but it seems we should have lost, despite being by far the better team in both halves, and scoring twice as many goals as the team that should apparently have won.

Sometimes I'm staggered by what I read on here, its like some aren't happy with actually getting the win....

I have looked at the first goal in ' superslomo" and frame by frame. He is offside - I think - by perhaps 2 maybe 3 inches. The Arsenal defenders foot is a lot more forward than it looks in real time. No linesman could pick that up and it would be wrong to flag if unsure and so close.
The second one is up to interpretation as to wether Silva had an "impact" on the goal. I have spoken to an ex ref (who remains anonymous) and he said if the shot had gone across Check it would be offside but as it was at the near post the ref is entitled to say no impact.

From my point of view its about time we had a borderline in our favour
