Indeed, but it seems we should have lost, despite being by far the better team in both halves, and scoring twice as many goals as the team that should apparently have won.

Sometimes I'm staggered by what I read on here, its like some aren't happy with actually getting the win....

I think you must be on a wind up posting that. No-one is remotely unhappy that we won, nor is anyone saying we should not have won. In fact I predicted on here MANY times that we were going to win and of course I am delighted that we did.

I have looked at the first goal in ' superslomo" and frame by frame. He is offside - I think - by perhaps 2 maybe 3 inches. The Arsenal defenders foot is a lot more forward than it looks in real time. No linesman could pick that up and it would be wrong to flag if unsure and so close.
The second one is up to interpretation as to wether Silva had an "impact" on the goal. I have spoken to an ex ref (who remains anonymous) and he said if the shot had gone across Check it would be offside but as it was at the near post the ref is entitled to say no impact.

I think Wenger is a bit of an embarrassment with his comments. The first goal is ultra tight, an inch at most and if there is doubt the attacker should receive the benefit so you can't criticise that call. Same with the second the benefit of the doubt applies and Silva was not in the line of sight or close to touching the ball so correct decision. Czech did not even appeal so I don't see how wenger can claim he was impacted!

On my way back to Devon, apart from the result and the fight shown the best part was the South stand singing "one nil to the Arsenal". Only downside is its £3.30 a pint in Mother Macs but its still better than any W/spoons type shitholes.
Great day worth the journey.

Well said that man. They just fooking hate us, moan and groan every time we get a result like this. They never just say City were unplayable at times in that second half especially.

I have no clue what that means. Sane was too far advanced. The linesman is not sure and therefore makes the correct call to not give offside. What's so hard to understand?

Oh do fuck off, I am not trying to take the gloss off anything. For umpteenth time, we won and that's all that matters. Some people are so fucking thin-skinned on here, it does my head sometimes, it really does.

Came over from Thailand for a week and managed to get to Watford and yesterdays game. Thought we were pretty much in control all game, if not a bit laboured in the first half. Apparently though according to Talkshite it was Arsenal's to throw away?? All analysis of the game was from an Arsenal perspective. Utter fucking nonsense.

Just read in the paper how arsenal totally dominated the first half how good they were.
I can only remember the goal and bravo punching one all game.

Genuine question were arsenal that good first half or am I seeing things through blue specs ?
I had it about even first half with city having the second half

City were good yesterday. Arsenal offered absolutely nothing in the second half because city didn't let them. Chelsea are catchable but theres a long way to go in the season.

No. The first half was pretty even although I thought we had more of the play albeit they looked dangerous going forward and we went in 1-0 up. Second half, we scored early and the momentum was with us. Arsenal pretty much collapsed at that point and we went on to deservedly win.

Thought the first half was fairly even, Arsenal had the lead and looked fairly comfortable in as much as we did,nt really look like scoring, but they did,nt look like extending the lead either.

Not sure where the media and Talkshite get it from really. I dont listen to it much but whenever I turn it on in the car it does seem that they are talking about Arsenal, or of course the rags, at which point it is normally turned off. Whenever they have a listener on the phone it seems they have gone out of their way to make sure the listener is as close to being a special needs candidate as possible.

I thought they were poor, and that we dominated, certainly didn't deserve to be losing, without creating a whole lot it has to be said, they had a couple of decent breakaway half chances which they fluffed badly, but they rarely had the ball, so no they weren't that good.
