Arsenal Post Match Thread.

Can't believe how many winge'ers on here after a draw at Arsenal! Fuck me we played poorly and still should have won. What's there to winge about?

What scares me shitless is that some of the team (the ones who are in and out of the team) know they won't be in the team or at the club next season. Will those guys give their all in the run-in ?

disgracefully sloppy all over the pitch esp ottomnendi, stones with KDB the worst of the lot.....he needs to be dropped...one world class ball for the first goal but after that he was shocking. Sane didnt do a thing after he scored.....nothing!

Sergio and silva were the only one who looked up for it ...even fern was poor at times

2 pts thrown away
KDB, even when not in top form will hit a couple of world class precision passes - mostly raking diagonal crosses. That's why he stays in the team - quite rightly.

Watched the highlights on motd and just got me thinking about kdb's pass to sane for the goal reminded me a bit of silva' to dzeko in the 1.6 at the swamp ..

I thought it was Xhaka for his foul on Yaya whilst on a yellow?

I was having my brew when they showed the replay of that Walcott incident but I heard Neville say it was a shocker. They didn't seem to show it in the post match on Sly Sports or did I miss it?

because for one of the few times this season in what was a hugely important game we let the game just drift away. I watched the other games on MOTD and every other team seemed to put in a shift where we were just coasting.

How about the fact that we should have won but didn't? Another couple of points dropped. One of our best chances for a result away at Arsenal and we failed to deliver.
The positive signs were that we scored twice and forced about three good saves from Ospina, the negatives were that we can't bloody defend and too much of our passing has turned to rat shit.
We have to trust the board will strengthen the defence in summer, but we've known Pep was on his way for around 14-15 months and we've known he wants to play from the back so surely the board fucked up by only recruiting Stones (during 2 windows) when the full backs were past it, Vince was crocked and MDM and Mangala were on their way?
Couldn't see the penalty at the game but the vids suggest we were robbed.
And too many bloody tourists in the visitors bit again.

Zaba is the only one I trust of those who are leaving
Could not agree more. Zaba will give everything. Not sure I could trust some of the others who will be leaving. Setting that aside, we need a defence that demoralises the opposition, rather than encourage 'em as our defence tends to.

Just got back and haven't had the chance to watch any of the tv coverage but
  • * De Brune needs to grow a pair....in the lead up to their second goal he is just points to the overlapping player and absolves himself of all responsibility.
  • *De Brune, Fernandinho and Sterling all incapable of keeping the ball.
  • I actually though Navas was one of our better performers today....along with Stones.
  • The substitution of Yaya for Sterling was absolutely the correct call....just unfortunate that today Yaya didn't do the job he was brought on to do.....keep the ball !
This game was never going to be the walkover that some were predicting, however the Arse were there for the taking and a 2 goal lead (we had the chances) would have seen them implode.
There are times when our attacking play is breathtaking......but we need to do this more often and kill teams off whilst we have them by the jugular

They get worse offers from perspective clubs if they down tools and look shit.

Is everyone on this thread drunk.
This thread reminds me of 2011/12 season. After we lost 1-0 to arse.

The result was OK and I'd have taken it before the game. But the performance was one of the lows of the season. Guardiola was not happy.

What concerned me most about today was Pep's remark after the game. When asked if Sterling substitution at half time was tactical, Pep confirmed it was tactical because he wanted to get Yaya on to give us more control of the ball and improve our passing. I didn't need to watch 45 minutes to know that so why should the mighty Pep?

Today's starting line-up was a baffling as Monaco away.

Well I don't often agree with Ian Wright but tonight he was spot on, if Kompany had been on the pitch at least one of those two goals for Arsenal wouldn't have happened!! We need LEADERSHIP on the pitch!! We need Kompany and Zabaleta.

tongue in cheek meaning we were unlucky regarding hitting the post , you are one argumentative bastard , who just cannot admit when you are totally incorrect , by trawling the internet for irrelevant videos trying desperately prove your point. You talk about other posters having issues , f*cking hell take a long hard look at yourself

I was going to let the disagreement slide but due to the tone of your post i feel the need to reply.

I wont admit im incorrect cause i believe im not.
The videos were in response to someone saying you dont use your arms to jump and propell yourself forawrd...they are easy to find and didnt need any trawling...took me about 30 secs actually as its common knowledge.

Talking about issues...i dont feel the need to swear in a post to get my point across. You appear quite angry that i disagree with your point of view, yet you say i have issues...????? I leave it there...........

A few things to take from the game; Sane is turning into some player, Navas isn't a right back, Yaya looked off the pace for the first time in the league under Pep this season. Raheem (in my opinion) is now an extremely important part of the team with his half-time departure costing us a threat up top. Clichy is off the pace and nervy, and now a left-back in summer for me is a big priority. City still don't get obvious, big decisions in big games, still waiting for the ref to give the handball. KDB is not a winger. I miss Gundogan and Jesus.

I'm gutted with the way we conceded our goals today from two set-plays against Arsenal, its not really what I expect against them, but to come away disappointed with a point at Arsenal just shows what we're trying to achieve as a club, which can't help but keep me optimistic for the near-future.

I dont disagree in the main but the problem st present is his defensive side if the game is weak....that pass today for the 1st goal was world class but after that he wasnt great...he is nowhere nesr top form at the moment
