The new Robinho, as I keep saying.

You will need to remind when Robinho played a pass anywhere near the quality that KDB played for Sane yesterday. It's comparable with Silvas at the swamp and if the result had been different would be lauded as such.

He played an absolute pearler to set up Stephen Ireland at Goodison in 2009 for one.

Not in the same ball park. Decent pass nonetheless. We do not get the best out of KDB in his current role. He would be better playing the final cross but Pep likes more pace on the flanks. It's sadly one of those things.

He also offers no protection to his full-back when he's out there but he does look more dangerous I agree.

Lost as an out and out winger for me as well.

He plays centrally in an advanced role behind the striker to get the best out of him.

Do we really play a ten now though or would we have to change the system?

I cannot see that happening under Pep and sadly for the positions Silva and KDB play there goal output has been appalling and their is a brittleness/weakness about their play. I'm only speculating because I do not know the answer to get the best out of them two.

Goals output from those 3 is simply not good enough for the level of player we are talking about and the chances we create.

Goals output from those 3 is simply not good enough for the level of player we are talking about and the chances we create.

I do love watching both those players but you do wonder if we had a midfielder (Deli Ali as an example) who could finish, was prepared to break into the box (not hang around on the edge to recycle the ball once again), and more combative where we would be this season. Too often Aguero is in there alone with the wide players having little to hit.

But of course the conundrum for Pep is finding that player and are those additional goals compensatory enough to lose the control of the game silva and KDB offer.

It looks to me that we are playing a no. 10 at the moment though, not twin no. 8s. Don't know if I saw it wrongly but it's certainly a surprise to me that Pep is playing a no. 10.

It feels like two 8s to me, unless it is more the players are playing the role which suits them. But I know what your saying because the way we play it could be argued, in old money, there both number 10s finding the space between the midfield and defensive lines. 6 goals between them this year says if we are playing a No 10 it has not been successful.
