Arsenal post match thread

Nice to see the pace and energy back in the team again. A front four of Sterling, KDB, Foden and Jesus was perfect, it was nice to see two holding players to keep us more stable in transitions too.

Curious to see how a Rodri+Dinho DM pair would work. Tactical fouls all over the midfield. :)

Thankfully Pep read my post last week on the post United thread. Foden for Silva and 2 holding midfielders.....Garcia must have been unwell though... ;^ )

We’re the club we used to hate
now, we are the club we wished we were. aside from the slow PL start, but we are still on in all four comp's, and will still bring hardware home.

Well I thought that was by design but listening to Pep he seems to suggest it wasn't. I thought we were ruthless, counter attacked brilliantly and with the shape we had it suited us.

He said last week's performance was better.

I have more time for Pep than I'd care to divulge but I thought that was a weird statement to make. We were not our usual selves today but we were dominant and another gear would have seen us put 5 or 6 past them.

It seems whenever we move outside of the 'way we play' he gets a little upset.

Sometimes change is for the better in certain circumstances and today we have seen that we are actually a fucking brilliant counter attacking team.

Leicester and Wolves will be a whole new kettle of fish. Wolves's intensity and pace today against Spurs was off the charts and we're going to have to match them if we want to win that game. Same goes for Leicester.

As other posters have said, watching KDB at his best is pure joy.

Hes the best in the PL at understanding how best to position himself before the ball actually arrives to him

Hes then usually forward facing & uses pace of incoming ball & his positioning to take out closest marker.

As he gets into that forward facing position quicker with ball ahead of him he has more time to both assess

his options, either another forward touch to drive further forward himself or layoff to either Sterling or Jesus.

With his shooting boots on? just unplayable as he's either scoring or assisting as defence cannot cover both

Wolves have lost fewer matches than us! After the slow start, Nuno has them playing well again.
