Arsenal - pre match thread.

2 up top has been a disaster so many times this season.

My preferred team:
................Hart......................
Sagna, Otamendi, Mangala, Clichy
.....Fernando, Fernandinho.........
...Navas,..... KDB,......... Nasri....
............Iheanacho..................

I really think Iheanacho should be played on merit ahead of Sergio based on both of their performances of late, but I can see Zabba, Yaya, and Aguero/Bony starting in smoe formation or other.

Zabbas crocked mate.

As an out and out Tarquin (I'm beginning to enjoy the name - sounds a bit surreal), I hope the negativity that permeates this thread carries on through to the Etihad Sunday with the happy outcome being a much merited Arsenal win due in some part to the self fulfilling prophesies of the Jeremiahs on here.

Ah ha!!!

Eureka!

At last a name we Gooners can adopt for you......Jeremiahs!

Well my fellow Jeremiahs, over to you from Tarquin.

Dontchya just love the name?

Please don't bottle this. But at home, motivated surely you'll do them?
We only have 6 points out of a possible 39 so far against the top 8. And motivated? Haha our players are anything but motivated. We will get hammered.

what the fuck have I just read

West Ham and the rags will both win you can count on that just to pile the pressure on.Arsenal will be relaxed a draw will do them. I have lost count the number of games we have all got excited about this season, how we have told ourselves "The team will be up for this one!" Only to be let down and I see this game being exactly the same.

Sorry to be so pessimistic but this lot are shot and the season can't finish quickly enough!

Random Q, since I've only been on this board during this campaign...

Were you all as miserable in 13-14 when City won the title?

Gloom and Doom 24/7/365.

Doom and Gloom is the birthright of any City fan... Its been pounded into our mentality good and deep. I think it is what makes positive results so much more satisfying. But that said, how anybody can be anything but a bit doom and gloom at the moment is beyond my reasoning. Things in motion tend to stay in motion and all that...

This is the match of the season for us. We win, we likely finish 3rd and don't have to worry in the slightest about playing our way into the CL next season. A loss could very well put us in 5th or 6th and watching potentially 5 PL clubs play CL football next season. While Pep is a big draw for players in his own right, I don't believe he's as big a draw as immediate Champions League play.

No, because when we won the title it kind of goes without saying we weren't watching shit performance after shirt performance week in week out.
Funnily enough when we play badly the fans react badly. Who'd of thought eh?

Add into what Pablo1 just said, any of the "normal" top of the table clubs played remotely decent on the whole this year, they run away with the title. The league overall is way down this year. Sure Leicester is a great story, but does anybody think that were they on this form in any of the last few seasons that they would have won the league? I don't. It is just a case of them being the shiniest turd.

Ha ha - north London football fans are hardly known for their upbeat optimism now are they? But at least you have a sense of humour - hope we hear you and your fellow tarqs booming this beauty out on Sunday....

Doesn't quite have the same zing to it as "specialist in failure"

Not wanting to sound like a bad loser, but absolutely agree.

You can add "luckiest" to shiniest and turd.

The fact they've won it with so few points says it all.

Our players appear to have the authority to decide when they want to play , lets hope they can be bothered on Sunday , i would only pick a team of players who believe they will be here next season and wouldnt even include the likes of Yaya,MDM,Bony,Kolarov on the bench because they are history . HART - SAGNA , OTTO, MANGALA , CLICHY - NASRI , DINHO , KDB , STERLING - AGUERO , IHEANACHO SUBS : DELPH , CABALLERO , NAVAS , FERNANDO , ANGELINO , GARCIA, CELINA

I would feel sorry for Fernandinho in that midfield but I do agree the team should be about the future and not as a farewell.

its a bit lightweight in midfield , but so are the goons , after wednesdays non performance, would be nice to get past the halfway line and create something or even have a shot :)
