It's the truth. And if we want to be really harsh Silva hasn't strung together a good few games for a while.bigdavecox90 said:Blue Smarties said:Ozil is better than Silva. Best creative midfielder out there.

I can see it already, Cazorla on the left to pass on his strong foot, Ozil to do the same on the right, behind Walcott and Giroud?
Holy fuck, what a year it will be for the premier league. Delighted for Arsenal fans, they truly deserve a signing of this calibre.
Id wager ozil wouldnt be too hot stuck on the left wing either...Blue Smarties said:It's the truth. And if we want to be really harsh Silva hasn't strung together a good few games for a while.bigdavecox90 said:Blue Smarties said:Ozil is better than Silva. Best creative midfielder out there.

They do deserve a signing like this. They don't ever get to experience a big signing; for all their years of spending nowt, they finally do. About time L'Arse made a statement.

Will be interesting to see how he settles, but if he emulates his Madrid form it changes everything. Suddenly from looking like going out in the CL group stage, they are as good as anybody in the competition. If Ozil can adapt quickly then this signing means they can win any of the major trophies. They still lack squad depth though and have never been lucky with injuries.

We don't have a player who can provide backup to Giroud/allow him to be rested. If Walcott plays up front we are short on the right wing due to Chamberlain's injury. Poldolski is out and I'm not really convinced by him as a lone striker anyway. I really doubt Sanogo is ready to start games in the league. The final option is Bendtner who might be a decent enough squad player if he focused on football, although ideally he would be no where near the squad at the moment.
Flamini should prove to be a good utility player as he can cover the full back positions and the midfield. Once Arteta, Poldolski, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Vermaelen are fit, the squad should be fine until January where hopefully a striker will come in.
supercrystal7 said:In a 4-2-3-1 the role of the lone striker can be different. For instance let's say the way Bayern played last year. At the moment the squad is weak due to injuries and the really hard CL group may take it's toll. In 4-2-3-1 with the front 4 rotating Podolski can do a job up front. I think Bendtner is also a lot better than many Arsenal fans give him credit for. He is not as good as he thinks he is, but is a true beast in the air. Put crosses in for him and he will beat virtually every centre back in the Premiership. Disappointed we did not get him. I think more than the squad depth the lack of winning, many injury prone players and the hard CL group are going to cause Arsenal the most problems.
