I am no apologist for Arsenal. My point was about facts, not opinion.

You ignore my words and rant against things I haven't said. Am I to be the focus of your seeming anti-Arsenal bile?

If we are to debate we must stick to the facts and have the discipline to argue against the written word and not be so sensitive to criticism thats one sees slights where none are intended.

In other words, leave prejudice and irrationality to one side.

Fact: City have the resources unmatched by any with the possible exception of Chelsea. There's nothing wrong with that. There is no superior model, as you put it. The rules allow the current situation. Success is fleeting, so enjoy the moment.

Unless you're an android, there is surely a place for emotion in sport or what's the point?

I don't think his comments were aimed at you (but I don't want to speak for him) and you may have missed the point.

It is yet another bitter jibe by a man who has decided what is right and what is wrong, and that was what the reply seemed to be about. I think the inclusion of your post was just for context.

I would also disagree that our resources are 'unmatched', there is more than one way to skin a cat. I'm not saying that (theoretically) we don't have more money available than them, but there's far more to it than that. For example, Arsenal chose to spend their money on a new stadium (a good business decision, and a correct one if you ask me). They have also benefited enormously from being at the top of the table at the right time, when the money started rolling in etc. Also, they wanted a business like approach (to increase profit) even though it clearly advantaged themselves over other clubs, and now somebody has come along with a better business model Wenger whinges at every opportunity but can't see the irony that they deliberately tried to skew the system in their favour.

Football isn't the only thing to get discussed on here, whinging hypocrite Wenger is certainly a reasonable topic. And especially when he takes a sly swipe at our club.

Yes, I agree. There is room for emotion or passion in sport. That's the point of it - the beautiful game providing occasional moments of joy interspersed with moments of gloom.

I did say I wasn't an apologist for Arsenal or Arsene for that matter. I merely pointed out the fact that Arsenal couldn't compete in the money stakes with City. That's a fact. Of course, Arsenal therefore of necessity have a different financial model to City.

However, I did take exception to bluemoon's rant because it was irrational attributing views to me that I hadn't stated and as it turns out, he was decent enough to explain his rant last night was after a few beers. I don't mind that. I've been pissed and ranted off myself in the past which is what happens on web fans forums.

Anyway, can I repeat that I don't have a problem with City's model. Those who suggest that Arsenal, because of their different business model are somehow morally superior are talking bollox. We are not debating moral philosophy here and I don't see moralising as an appropriate form of comparison when looking at the way football clubs are run.

As long as clubs comply with the regulatory rules, then it's fine. I have a much bigger problem with the cynical owners that run good clubs into the ground ( Glasgow Rangers, Hearts and Portsmouth to name but 3).

As for Aguero's last minute winner against QPR that won you the title, most Arsenal fans I know cheered that moment and we all revelled in Man Yoos discomfort and humiliation at the hands of Sunderland fans.

Again, most Arsenal fans I know don't really have a big problem with City. If anything, welcoming your success after Man Yoos years of domination and seeing it as a deserved reward for the patience and loyalty of previously long suffering fans.

Looking forward, I do think that FFP will mean clubs business models will become similar and more self sustaining. Those who make the point that FFP is likely to make it more difficult to dine at the top table make a valid point but I'm not wise enough to work out how we can change that.

Anyway, a great season so far. I do think its between you and Chelsea, though I suspect going forward, Arsenal's greater financial muscle (as demonstrated by the Ozil purchase) should mean they can compete better than before when having to finance the new stadium.

If its not Arsenal, then let it be City or Liverpool this season. I wouldn't care to see Chelsea or God forbid, Man Yoo again, though in the latter case, I think they have shot their bolt for this season.

Sitting on top the league in January and instead of strengthening properly, we are now going to have to swallow the bitter f**king pill of no proper investment in the team.

Ozil was a mistake. Madrid snatched the money out of their hands before they realised what they'd agreed to.

Normal service is resumed.

We are going to settle for the joy that is f**king 4th place AGAIN.

Inter are bidding 13million euros for Morata and we are getting George N-f**kng- Tep a Ligue 2 striker, that's barely championship level.

For all I know he could be the next Henry but if he was he wouldn't still be in Ligue 2 at 22. More likely he's the next great sh*te hope to come out of Auxerre since Stephan Guivarch......remember how crap he was.

Anyway, how are we all? Not much has changed, all 3 teams at the top getting the results they needed at the weekend, this will defo be tight at least until the tough double header in February Arsenal have against Utd and Liverpool.

I'm hoping for Utd to get a draw in this weekends game, but I highly doubt. Isn't it just like Chelsea to play Utd when they don't have Van Persie or Rooney. Could have done with them playing Hull after they signed Jelavic and Long as well.

Speaking of Chelsea, I'm sorry to admit to you guys that in my league winners swingometer, the pendulum has Chelsea as slight favourites at the moment. Some of you might like the fact that someone hasn't said its City's to lose or any other phrase that's been banded about recently. I just think looking at the remaining fixtures they could have the edge, Matic could give them a boost as well.

1 date stands out for me more than most though, its not the game for them at the Tihad, its not the game against us at Stamford Bridge, for me, Liverpool v Chelsea, 3rd last game of the season. When you attack, you have Aguero,Negredo(16million...how ??!!),Silva,Toure. All pretty clinical in front of goal. Then you bench Dzeko and even Fernandinho bags a worldy now and then.

Chelsea only need to attack once or twice and then Maureen shuts the game down1-0,2-0 job done.

We defend well, have a decent midfeld, but Giroud needs help. We need a clinical striker. Also decent CB as back up for for Koscielny or the BFG get injured. Our squad as it is will not last the season without some back up. And no Ligue 2 strikers don't count.
