Arsenal's draw against West Brom was described by the BBC as a hard won draw and generally a good result.
Wenger was pleased with the result, especially considering The Baggies' win away to Un***d last week.

Sky, however said that they 'rescued' a draw.
Following the draw Arsenal are 1st, West Brom 12th.

If that was City Un***d or Chelsea it would be considered 2 points dropped.

So, is it 1 point gained or 2 points dropped, considering that the 4 clubs in the European spots behind them all won and relatively gained 2 points.

Well considering:

West Brom played pretty well and just beat United in their own back yard
We went 1-0 down away from home, almost 2-0 if Anelka scores
We played an intense game vs Napoli in midweek
We've been getting by with a group of 13 or 14 players + kids recently as we're missing numerous players

I'd say it was a decent point. We had a great weekend last time out when City and United got turned over, Spurs and Chelsea drew.

Happy enough with our shape going into the internationals.....should have Cazorla, Sagna, Walcott and maybe Podolski back for Norwich at home.

You were only a few games away from breaking our (Chelsea's) record of most consecutive away wins. Trust Arsenal to bottle it.

I thought Podolski was out until December?

News today that he could make the Norwich game but at worst end of the month. We're desperate for him and Walcott to return for some added goal threat. Wilshere and Ramsey wide yesterday didnt work at all.

Things are looking positive for you guys IMV, I agree it was a decent point at WBA

Amazing the difference a month or so can make, huh?

Is Podolski a credible alternative to Giroud as the main striker? I've always thought of Podolski more as a second striker/wide option but have not seen enough of him to form a definitive view. I know Walcott can play up front but I don't really think he's got the right tools to be a lone striker for you

I think Wenger will give Podolski games centrally. Neither him or Walcott can play the role like a Giroud does, competing with defenders, holding it up etc..but both did score goals when given the odd game in there last season. Podolski looks pretty awkward in the role, not used to playing with his back to goal but it's all we have if Giroud needs a rest or gets injured as i dont see us adding a striker in January.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Seems like a role where you've no real replacement for your starting option (Bendtner..?!) but every squad has its weaknesses. We would be in serious trouble without Fernandinho for example.

January really isn't the time to be buying strikers so I agree it seems unlikely you'll add one then.

quite obviously would have preferred a win, and yes the other top teams all won (apart from spurs).

but as said before brom are playing well, were at home, had just beaten utd at trafford, we were a bit leggy as well.

it always happens when you play a blinding game against top euro opposition in mid week, then west brom a few days later its a bit of a come down even for players i imagine.

overall, top of the league going into the international break, can't argue with that. also a few players should be back as well, and the existing players will get bit of a rest.

Watch, you'll get 5 players injured on international duty now.

knowing our luck it will probably be 6...

Did Gianelli Imbula play against you for Marseille afc16? We're supposedly linked with him for January.

The bit in bold was an unnecessary addition to your opening line.

if he did then i wouldn't remember too much about it, they weren't a great team and can't remember any player sticking out for me to remember him.

it was very necessary. if i said all the top teams won and left it at that, and didn't put 'apart from spurs' in brackets then that would mean i don't consider spurs a top team.

and all the top teams apart from spurs did win, so it was a very valid part of my post.

In view of Jack Wilshere's recent comments, will be now be playing on the right wing for England & Arsenal?
