Arsenal have Vermaelen to come on for Koscielny.

I believe Vermaelen will be a City player next season.

I thought they had won the league in November ;-)
Sorry Gillespie, you seem a decent supporter, but we had a few on spouting a lot
of shit before the 6 - 3, so you can see why I find this soooooo funny.

-- Mon Mar 24, 2014 11:43 pm --

Sturridge, Suarez, Negredo, Aguero, Hazard, Yaya, there are 6 players that were better than Ramsey until the point he got injured.

Still a very good (and massively improved) player though, wonder where he will go to win trophies after the FA Cup you will get this season?

By the way gooners, feel the pain, not so funny seeing your side ship goals galore, is it? Now you know how we felt every time we played you a few years back! (that's said a bit tongue-in-cheek)

well a lot of this sort of stuff is also based on opinions so on that basis in hindsight i can't questions yours, i can only argue mine.

in almost every media circle/pundits/newspapers, the player they were mentioning was ramsey as likely to be winning player of the year.

none of the players you mentioned (that i remember anyway) were single handedly winning games, taking games by the scruff of the neck, scoring spectacular goals on as regular basis as ramsey was. also a lot of it was the scale of the improvement as well from previous seasons.

remember that liverpool before december were not playing as spectacularly as they are now even though suarez was still scoring goals.

neither were yourselves or chelsea.

as for where will ramsey go, hes just signed a new contract and i dont think city fans (yet) are in any position to goad us about losing our best players.

we could finish this season with the fa cup, and you could easily end up with just the capital one cup. who would have had the better season?

i think this season has showed that we have the *majority* of the ingredients needed to challenge for the title and other trophies. even after our rubbish 2nd half of the season, we are only a handful of points behind the leaders. remember the other 3 teams have at least 1 if not 2/3 top top strikers, world class ones. we don't have any.

we also have a very good defence overall.

all in all we are not far away at all, and i wouldn't question our ability to compete for trophies beyond this season if i was a fan of any other club.

Must have missed the bit where Adebayor, Nasri, RvP, Fabregas etc. left then, sorry about that. If I wanted to be a twat, I could quite easily goad you about your best players leaving... AND doing better upon exiting (Adebayor excepted).

Agree about your defence, it is very good, but it's your manager fault you have neither a top class keeper, or a top class centre FORWARD, he treats the clubs money like it is his own. Can you tell me which top class striker Chelsea have, apparently?

I do question your ability beyond this season, purely because, yet again, at the business end of the season, you are proving to be not up to it. Not including the FA Cup in that as all the other top sides messed up allowing you pretty much a free run at it.

As for who would have had the better season, if we finish the league above you, I would say us, even if/when you do win the FA Cup.

I still think Wenger, great manager he once was, is limiting your ability to challenge for the title, he has been there too long and really cannot see the wood for the trees.

All subjective of course, merely putting across my views.

ediy in, I meant forward, not centre half!

Sorry I meant top players leaving now rather then in the past.

It happened in the past due to us not having the financial power to be able to compete and wages etc.

Also a lot of those players were towards the end of their contract such as nasri rvp, so we didn't have much choice.

We are not in that same position now where our best players can just be poached as easily.

And come on, you can't really use the 'other top teams have messed leaving us a easy run' with the fa cup, we've had to beat spurs Liverpool and Everton to get to where we are, I can't think of many harder runs. If we now have a easier run to the trophy then we deserve it, we've hardly got here by beating lower league opposition.

Agree about strikers, total cock up on wengers part.

And anyone should be able to see the that we are not far away at all.

In previous seasons we'd be almost 20 points behind the leaders at this stage.

Just on Saturday with only 8 games remaining we could easily have gone within 1 point of the leaders. Even now if we win game in hand its 4 points.

That is not a massive jump to make assuming we sign 2/3 quality players including a top striker. So I don't doubt our ability to challenge constantly next season and beyond.

Whatever form they might be in, Torres ba and eto are still top strikers, not world class but both Toress and eto have been world class for a lot of their careers, and they still have a lot of quality. Eto has proved it with his goals recently.

And Certainly a lot better then what we have got.

Bottled is when you have the best team and dont win, like man city last season, or this season if you dont win it. Arsenal probably should be 3rd based on pre season expectations. We are near where we should be.
Personally Im now hoping man city win it, the only way this will turn into a good season for me is if city win the league and we win the cup. Anything else and its going to be a very long summer.
I know too many chelsea and liverpool fans and I cant stand the thought of them winning the league so its up to you boys to not bottle it now. . Hopefully city beat utd tonight to send a little message, put the pressure on the other 2.
As for arsenal, winning the cup and finishing 4th would be our best season for 9 years, with our worst strike force since the mid80s. Lots of work over the summer.

No, bottled it is where you were the frontrunner to win something close to the finish line and didn't have the mental fortitude to get the job done.

I know all you Arsenal fans are gloryhunters who picked a safe option to support but I would have thought you would bothered to learn the language.

And boasting about a 4th place finish with a Cup being your best season in forever, for the size of club you have and the constantly high wage bill and transfer spending, is just pathetic.

As ol' Bobby Manc would have said (who is now 1 trophy behind Wenger's career total with 20 years less experience), you completely lack any winning mentality. Celebrating the 4th spot with champagne and parties, you sad bastards

Ching fucking ching.

Haha imagine if bobby replaced wenger damocles, don't think they'd miss wenger and tippy tappy football once the trophies started rolling in :)
