Arsenal do seem to have improved this season under Arteta which leads me to ask this question...

Supposing next season Arsenal do really well, like a top 4 finish, could City look to him to replace Pep?

Just asking because I dont see an obvious replacement for Pep without changing the philosophy

I don't have the answer as to who can replace Pep, but although I have a soft spot for Mikel, I don't think it'll be him.

If Arsenal keep him and give him the support and investment the club needs, if he's anywhere near good enough for what we want then by the time Pep leaves, Arsenal will be back to firmly established top 4, maybe challenging for titles. That becomes leaving a club he's got a load of history with, to manage a direct rival in the same league, which would be very rare.

If they give him the investment and Arsenal don't push on, he lacks the nous we want. If they don't give him the investment then he'll be unproven working with the kinds of budgets and players he'd need to manage at City and it becomes too much of a risk/step into the unknown.

I wish him well (apart from when he comes up against us!) but I don't think his future is at City, or at least not directly after Pep. I guess we can't predict the twists and turns of subsequent years.

No doubt the dippers will claim a city player with covid called round his house after last nights game and licked his face as part of the overall conspiracy

This is fun....

Well Grealish is 5 years older so a bit daft to compare a player in his prime years to a developing kid. Smith Rowe is still a kid at 21 & is clocking up the goals. I really wish Grealish could add goals to his game. He has never hit more than 10 league goals a season & I dont think he will. Its just not his nature to find the net . Thats why I rank Grealish behind KDB and Foden. The later two are a goal threat.

ESR has 8 league goals halfway through the year. 15 league goals is a great return from midfield. When was the last time a 21 years old scored more than 15 from midfield?

Smith Rowe is a great player and the Gooners have struck gold.
