It comes to something when you want Liverpool to beat them.
It means you want your suffering from some kind of mental illness. See a Dr!
14 red cards since Arteta took over.
Seem to lose it against the top teams.
Since New Year they're had a player sent off against us and in both Carabao semi-final games.
They went out becaue Xhaka got sent off. That meant in the 2nd leg, with Partey on the bench, Arsenal could not combat the Liverpool press and they rarely managed to break out and feed their forwards. It would have been a completely different game had Partey and Xhaka started but as you say Arsenal have a disciplinary problem. They keep losing players.

The way to cause Liverpool problems is the early ball over or through the high back line of their defence. Martinelli and Sakka have the pace to cause them issues. Arteta has a way he wants Arsenal to play, yesterday was a time to show some flexibility and play the pass earlier. Especially when he saw Liverpool were packing the midfield and pushing so high.
If a team is going to try to pass through Liverpool they need to be be better at it than the current Gunners.

One of the reasons we played well against you guys as well as your tiredness, was we had a platform of Partey & Xhaka at the base of midfield. It's our best combination, unfortunately we all know Xhaka's faults.

Outside them we are weak. Yesterday we only had Lokonga who is ok but still young himself in his first season in English football, with Odegaard & an evidently not fit Smith-Rowe and we were a bit powder puff in there and easy to press and play through.

I think we did try the long ball to Martinelli a fair and it gave us joy early part of the game but Liverpool soon caught that and doubled up on him. Saka didn't have a good game, and Lacazette isn't physical or fast enough against the better teams.

Yep, a good assessment.
With the weaker midfielders it would have made more sense to turn the Scouse defence. As you say it was successful in the early part of the game.
