What a fantastic season Arsenal have had is the narrative from the media.
Yeah OK.
They spent big bucks to move up 3 places in the league, and we're still throwing money at it in January.
Failed in all the cup competitions and even lost an 8 pt lead in the Premier league.
Have took 7 pts from the last available 24 and we're apparently in a title race as they did.
That form is really poor and quite embarrassing when put up as a title challenge.
But hey the media says they've had a fantastic season so they must have.
Obviously silverware counts for jackshit these days, so a very well done to Arsenal FC

Two things can be true. We've been exceptional since Christmas. But Arsenal had more than enough to get over the line regardless, what a fucking bottlejob.

They’ve played above themselves this year, it’s as simple as that, and I expect them to revert to type next season.

They have a small number of genuinely good players who could fit into our squad and consistently operate at our level - two or three players - but their biggest problem is the number of nearly men they have. I’m not talking about whipping boys like Harding either, but rather the large majority of their squad.

Players like White - who has shocking yesterday - Gabriel, Xhaka, Partey, Tierney, and others, simply aren’t good enough to win close games against top opposition when fine margins make the difference.

Arsenal fans are kidding themselves if they think that one or two big signings will be enough to get them over the line, and next season will be a different story for them as expectations will be higher and they’ll start under pressure after the way they’ve fallen off over the past month.

They've got quality in the attacking third, but when they have to defend they've got nothing. Can't withstand pressure and can't stop transitions.

Need about 4 top quality first team players to challenge us next season.

Congratulated you guys before, thought I'd come and do so now it's official.

Best team won the league at the end of the day, and when that happens you can have little complaints.

We just need to regroup, be a bit ruthless with sales and have a good summer in the market.

You'd think if you were in charge of Arsenal's planning, this seasons aim would be top 4, next season consolidate and the season after would be to challenge, and the fans would have been happy with that.

However this season obviously raised hopes and expectations, so there's disappointment there, and probably raised expectations for next season, so should we expect to challenge next year, our first year of dealing with Champions League and Premier League?

It's a difficult 1 to call to be honest.

On the one hand, the way they played earlier in the season makes you think Arsenal have a ton of promise for future seasons. They played great football and thoroughly deserved their points tally.

On the other hand though, this collapse from them has been rather pathetic. Every single game they've dropped points in at this late stage has had embarrassing elements for them. It's one thing to slip up and not win the league, but to lose out in the fashion they have done does make you wonder what the hell went wrong for them. Whatever it is might just linger and hold them back for a long time.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm sure you build on this season. Arteta has had you playing some excellent attacking football so lots to be positive about.
