Was always going to be a tall order winning the League, but they have done very well and are still in the hunt, albeit losing the scent.

An interesting point is how increasingly fragile they have become once they started getting knocked out of other competitions. There was almost a sense that they were putting all their eggs in the League basket, yet as that has become the sole focus, the pressure has ultimately gotten to them. Guardiola has consistently urged us to keep competing for everything on all fronts, and you can certainly see the merits of instilling that mentality in the players. Guess Arteta chose to ignore that teaching.

Worth pointing out they crumbled the second we got within touching distance. Said all season this would happen we just kept letting them off when the opportunity to get within range presented itself. If we hadn't been robbed at the swamp and proceeded to shit the bed ourselves at Spurs and Forest these would have crumbled much earlier and be in the mix with newcastle and united.

They're nowhere near giving us a real title challenge and I suspect they'll be aiming for top 4 next season looking over their shoulders rather than looking up as the teams that truly shat the bed catch up.
